Shopping Spree

QVC History

QVC was founded by a man named Joseph Segel in 1986. Interested in developing a business, after watching a Home Shopping network, he Started QVC. QVC first started on 24 November 1986.

What is QVC?

QVC is a home shopping channel.

When is QVC on?

QVC is on continuously 7 days per week.

What does QVC stand for?

Quality, value, convenience.

Where can I watch QVC?

QVC is only available to digital, satellite or cable viewers.

What is on QVC?

QVC is presented by different people specialised in different areas and often includes a salesperson who knows more about the specific product. QVC is split into categories, where there is a different product topic, every hour or so. QVC items are all demonstrated over and over again, and every product is talked about in great detail, giving the viewer all their queries answered.

What does QVC sell?

A variety of products ranging from:

Jewellery
Electrical goods
Beauty Products
DIY products
Household products
Video/Music
Gardening
Toys/bears
Clothes
Car care
Fitness
Pet products
Computers and accessories
Etc

How do you order?

You can order by phone (absolutely free) or online (www.qvc.com). You will be given a membership number when you first ever order. Once you have seen/found the product for you, simply note down the item number (which you will find top left of the screen). And order in the normal way which ever suits you. Simply give the operator your membership number (if you have one), and item number and your away.

You can also order on queue cut via your telephone, this is a quicker way to order using your telephone keypad without the need of having to speak with an operator

How do I pay?

When you order via phone or online, you will be asked for your payment method. Be it credit card/cheque:

Credit cards QVC will accept – switch, visa, delta, MasterCard, American express, dinner’s club or QVC card.

Paying via cheque – you will need to quote QVC’s account number (2267233), and allow 3 days for payment. Cheques are made payable to QVC, and simply need to be sent to QVC headquarters.

How long will delivery take?

Approximately 5 – 7 days.

Refunds

If you are not happy with your purchase within 30 days you can request a refund, even if you have partly used the product. You will recieve returns labels with your order, should you wish to return it.

Costs

QVC buy all products in bulk, giving the viewer the chance to have the goods at the lowest possible price. QVC also gives the buyer the option to spread costs over a two month period.

Availability

Every item has up to date availability, displayed on screen notifying the viewer when the product is reaching limited stock.

Postage and packing

You do have to pay postage costs. The costs vary depending on what the product is. Even if you ordered a variety of 2 or more items, this wouldn’t save you any money on postage costs.

Is there any age limit restriction to be a QVC member?

Anybody over 18 years is eligible to become a member.

Will I be charged VAT?

VAT is included in all prices.

Multi buy

This option will save you half of the cost of postage, if you order more than 1 of the same product. It is only available when the multi buy sign is displayed on screen.

Easy pay

This option allows and helps to spread the cost of items over several months. Monthly instalments are on an interest free basis. You will know if an item includes the easy pay option, as the details will be displayed on screen during the items review.

Premium delivery service

For a quicker delivery within 3 days you can pay an additional charge of £2.95 per item.

Today’s special value

Features a product, which has been reduced in price and only available at the discounted rate for that day.

Customer service

Any queries/problems simply contact QVC’s customer service representatives, who are available to take your calls or emails 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and 364 days per year for your assistance.

I’ve been a QVC follower for many years now, not only is it a great way to shop, its fun to watch. You can simply purchase items in the comfort of your own home and at the right time for you. It’s also very educational and I have learnt many new things from it.

QVC covers a variety of new and different products and demonstrates them, giving you a high insight in to how to work them, when I have recieved my orders in the past, I have been able to use the products straight away, due to the excellent demonstrations QVC do, leaving me no need to read the instructions.

The goods are easy to purchase along with a quick delivery. I have found QVC brilliant; the products have been of great quality, along with great value for money. Should you not like the item you have ordered, you can simply send it back with no fuss or questions. QVC covers such a large range of different products that there’s something for everybody on QVC.

Nice review, never bought anything from QVC but I find it very educational to watch especially the technology shows!

My neighbour is hooked on QVC - but because we're fairly remote (W Scotland) delivery can take 2-3 weeks. Her last order took a month to arrive as they had her address as Argyll, Wales (er no!) Jo

My old childminder used to use this all the time, it never appealed to me - although this could be due to age. And the prices are higher than nearby shops. Great review - a lot of detail. L
