Advantages: Light, Good Value for Money Disadvantages: Relaibility Issues
Leading a busy life can mean difficulty in balancing business with pleasure. So, when looking for a laptop, I went for something that was moderatley priced, and seemed practical for work. However, I also wanted a laptop that was portable, but also offered good entertainment performance.
On the portability front, the Inspiron 510M fares well. It was not designed as a small mini-notebook, but it is far less bulky than many of its rivals. It weighs relatively little, considering the amount that is crammed inside. It fits well into most laptop bags, and is no trouble to carry around.
Its performance somewhat lets the laptop down. When new, its price to performance ratio is very good. You get ample power considering the moderate price tag. The graphics card is better than most cheap laptops, and the 1.5GHz Pentium M processor ...
Advantages: Cheap, Much cheaper than external Hard Drives, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection, Easy to set up, USB 1.1 Backward compatible, works with MAC Disadvantages: Only supports up to 120GB, requires installation
WHAT IS IT?
I?m reviewing the ?Q-Tec USB2 HDD 3.5? Case?. Now many of you are probably thinking ?What the hell is that??. Well, it?s basically a case where you put your Hard Disk Drive (HDD) in, so you can use the HDD while it?s out of your computer. The HDD is the ?storage disk?, usually found inside the computer and it is the place where you store all your software, documents and any other files you may have such as mp3s, pictures, etc. The HDD looks like a small silver box, with black plastic areas around the edges. It has a disk inside that spins around while data is read from it and written to it by a needle. You don?t see the ?disk?, as it is enclosed inside the drive but you can usually hear it. People are usually referring to HDD capacity when they bring up numbers like 20GB, 40GB, 80GB, etc when discussing computer ...

Advantages: Good al-round laptop for moderate/light use Disadvantages: None to date
The Dell 510m laptop replaces a previous Dell Inspiron, which I had for three years; became a little too slow and a little out of date for my purpose.
Not on any occasion did I have any trouble.
I had it 'cleansed' and passed it to my granddaughter for University use mainly for word processing-it continues to serve it's purpose.
The selection of the 510m was therefore a choice wisely made after a detailed research of all laptops. The 510m was the only one suitable for me; bearing in mind the intended use. The usage had to be determined, in my case, by projected use over the next 3 years. (Purchased June 2005)
I would consider 3 years or even less, as a suitable yardstick due the ever- increasing advances in technology
Not keen on Celeron M, I upgraded to Centrino Mobile for the little extra cost after a very swift ...
