The Yamaha Blaster - The small contender Advantages: Lightweight, powerful 200cc two-stroke motor, proven over time Disadvantages: Wheel base and width cause instability in some situations. The Yamaha Blaster is a legend in its own right. It has been in production for many a year now and has sold in large numbers worldwide. Its success has mainly been down to the large spread of potential buyers that it caters for. Although its main target is the rookie rider, it has sufficient power to thrill most users while providing good value for money and great reliability. I have had my Blaster now for 7 years and had very few mechanical issues ... ...improvment! Would recommend to any Yamaha Blaster users once they have mastered whats on offer from stock trim. The lightweight tubular chassis provides a quality housing for all the internals of this compact little quad, although Yamaha have done a great job of keeping the weight down they dont seem to have sacrificed strength at any point. We operate a company in Scotland offering Quad Bike Treks for anybody over the age of sixteen, in other words the bikes are used a lot and by anybody from beginners to more experienced riders. The Legend that is the banshee Advantages: Bullet proof 2-stroke engine stands the test of time Disadvantages: Very minor problems, such as plastics scratch a little too easy The Yamaha Banshee quad bike has been my favorite for many years, i currently own one and it gives me nothing but pleasure. This quad has been in production for so long but it has always been a top seller due to its unique features. The powerplant is a liquid cooled 350cc twin cylinder engine derived from the Yamaha RD350LC road bike. It is not the greatest liquid cooled design as is basically an air cooled bottom end with liquid cooled cylinders ... ...design costs when Yamaha first borught out a water cooled version of the original air cooled road bike engine. There are many aftermarket products to improve the cooling of your machine but unless you are modifying it for racing then i do not recommend the need for such parts. The top sports quad of the current era! Advantages: Build quaility great, performance second to none. Disadvantages: Very few - price range high for leisure applications ...ATV community by storm. The yamaha YFZ450 is the ultimate in performance quad bikes. It has taken the place of the old trx250 and become the top race/sport quad of current times for most applications. The YFZ450 is primarily aimed at the offroad/motocross application and here its design excells. The power band of the quad is wide enough for sport/leisure use but also high enough for out of crate race winning. The suspension and front A-Arm set up ... ...brakes to put on my Yamaha Banshee! The rear swing arm is of solid construction and will outlive most components, the subframe on this quad is of a cleverly sturdy design even though it has been made lightweight. Great little bike! Advantages: Reliability, looks and really easy to ride. Disadvantages: Price. This is a great little bike for younger children and the older ones. The engine is a 50cc 4 stroke Automatic so you just push the throttle and away you go. Its got an electric or pull start, the pull starts for only if the battery is dead say .This quad is really good fun for young children you can control the speed you want it to go at so you don't have your 7 year old doing 30mph round the garden as when not restricted it will do about 40mph. The ... ...so if the person on the quad is going to fast or going to far you can press a button on your remote and this will cut off the engine on the quad bike so that is comes to a stop. This quad is very strong as i have seen adults ride it and the quad deals with them no problem. The quad is really good but i thought it was rather a lot of money being sold at around £750.
