“Oatso Simple and Oatso Tasty”

published 25/11/2001

Proquick to make

Consprobably not the most healthy of breakfasts

I have a sweet tooth, as you probably know if you have read my previous opinions about chocolate. So I thought I would give my opinion on Oatso Simple. Basically Oatso Simple is a quick and easy way to make porridge. It is made by Quaker and comes in a box of 8 sachets. There are four different...

“Things to do with Quakers”

published 05/12/2001

ProQuality Rolled oats great for baking with

ConsMakes horrible Porridge

To make a bowl of porridge take a saucepan with salted water in add a handful of oatmeal medium or coarse depending on how you feel and boil until thick enough. Serve in a bowl with milk or cream so your porridge is a floating island in a sea of milk. Add salt to taste and enjoy a meal to pick...

“Are you getting your oats”

published 08/04/2003

Protasty, filling, nutritious, cheap

Consnone whatsoever

Porridge oats are something you will always find in my cupboard, and they are usually the ones made by Quaker. They are nutritious, tasty, filling and cheap, and if you eat them regularly your body will benefit in several different ways. What brand of oats you buy makes little difference to all...

Satisfactory

ProHealthy; Good value

ConsToo lumpy; Bitter taste

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so not being able to face any food until dinner time probably hasn’t done me any favours over the years. With a diet sheet to follow while suffering from a stomach ulcer, a radical change of eating habits has had to be made on many...

“Puts hairs on your chest”

published 18/03/2003

Proquick, cheap, easy

Consnot to everyone's taste

I’m on a new diet and every morning, at about 730am, I open the cupboard door in the kitchen and bleary eyed, take the Quaker’s porridge oats out of the cupboard. My husband is normally still asleep at this time and I tiptoe around making the porridge for both of us. There are many...

“Quaker Real Fruit Porridge!”

published 01/09/2007

ProUnique and tasty

ConsTakes longer to make than a cold cereal

I was never a fan of porridge when I was a kid and got told to finish it, and it was usually getting cold or lumpy! As I get older my tastes change, and last Winter I had a bowl every day and noticed it keeps you going till lunch... The trick with porridge is to make sure you take your time...

“Quick and yummy”

published 13/11/2001

ProQuick, easy, no weird ingredients

ConsNot very cheap, a lot of packaging

I have always been a porridge advocate. However, I was brought up on the "proper" kind, that takes a while to make and leaves a sticky saucepan. Not what you want first thing in the morning. So I tried the instant kind, Ready Brek, and all that kind of thing. They're all warm, but to be honest...

“The healthy Comfort Food”

published 10/02/2005

ProTastes like mum used to make

ConsNon

Oats So Simple by Quaker are so like the Porridge and Golden syrup I was fueled with each morning as a child that it has become one of my favourite comfort foods. They have so many advantages, not only the wonderful sweet taste without too many calories to start the day. They are in individual...

Progood for you and healthy food

Consdont think there are any!

When I first met my husband over 20 years ago and realised he ate porridge for breakfast I used to think, Oh no, I cant eat that, too slimy and not much taste, i tried it but couldnt get on with it at all. Now, many years later, and at a woman's certain age! I am looking after myself diet wise...

Question

Where can I buy this product in the Burford, Witney, Oxford area of the UK?

Answer

I don't know of the exact area, but the product itself is widely available in most supermarkets i.e. Asda, Tesco. If you have a look in their 'cereals' aisles you are almost guaranteed to find them there x
