Advantages: Great learning Disadvantages: Hefty bills
I attended a BSc Management Studies course at a north london university. Westmin ster.
The course lasted 3 years on a full time basis, that meant no dole, no real time to work if i was serious about completing this course.
The course cost approximately £1000 a year though i am sure the prices for a full time course are slightly higher these days. Though where there is a willingness to learn there is always a way regardless of the price paid.
Method of study is lecture based on a 1 sometimes 2 hour in a lecture theater reading (per subject). A 1 hour seminar meeting with an allocated tutor is also offered every other fortnight. Some weeks there may be a seminar other weeks none.
The quality of the lecturers. Some were completely useless in explaining foreign topics. What i mean by this, is that they would give out a piece ...
Advantages: Wide coverage of many terms Disadvantages: Some puzzling omissions
The Oxford Dictionary of Business and Management bills itself as: "best-selling dictionary, containing over 6,750 terms"

This is not the first edition of this dictionary. The new (fourth) edition contains 250 new entries.
It covers a wide range of different business terms, from economics to the laws as they relate to operating a business, and there is an appendix of useful business-related websites, too.
Although the dictionary is generally good (some of the concepts are gone over in considerable depth, some with separate one or two page features) some of the categories are a little puzzling. For example, the entry for Netscape Navigator says: "Netscape: One ...
Advantages: Study when you can, no lectures to attend. Disadvantages: The price of some of the courses.
Although I am a member of staff of the OU, and could be classed as biased, I have to be straightforward and honest about their courses for myself. As I already have a degree, I moved straight into the level 2 compulsory courses. This is usually something you wouldn't be able to do at most other universities, and allows people to choose their courses if they already have experience of higher education.
On this honours degree course, you need to obtain 360 points in total to gain the degree, with a minimum of 120 points at level 3. Half of the points are made up with 3 compulsory courses, and the rest can be chosen from a wide variety of options. I have completed one of the compulsory course so far, B200 Understanding Business Behaviour which has now been discontinued and replaced by a new course. I did find some parts of the course ...
