...I was recently looking to expand the storage capacity on my computer and after much searching around found the Quantum Fireball LCT 15 20GB drive, which was a bargain at just over £70.
Its tech spec is good for the price: seek time 12ms with track to track of 2ms, 0.5mb buffer, data rate of 248mb/sec and an error rate of <10 per 10^15 bits.
Its got built in shock protection, data integrity validation and is quiet (much quieter than my other IBM drive anyway).
I got mine from buy.com, who are often cheap and distribue money-off vouchers, but they are widely available from most internet computer stockists....

...I bought it on amazon.co.uk in March 2007. At least at the time, it was the cheapest reseller I managed to find.
I'm very happy with the drive. If you just need to keep it at home and never carry it around, you'll be better off with a drive that requires external power: they tend to be bulkier but faster and cheaper. If instead you need to carry it around, this is the perfect choice: USB-powered, small and stylish.
About as big as 2 passports, it is very efficient. Speed is reasonable (it certainly is not a super fast SCSI drive!) and the included software for backing up your data is very useful: very fast to use, and even allows encryption of the data....
