Advantages: Low price + large tube + gorgeous mint scent + really works! Disadvantages: Sulfur smell - flip-top would be better - possibly update the design
I love mint...mmm it's got such a gorgeous smell! I also love how they use the word "masque" rather than "mask"; there's nothing fancy about this item, though ;)

The tube is made from 'soft' plastic - the plastic that you can squeeze easily, exactly like the E45 tubes of cream. To me, the design is retro - it doesn't look modern, rather it looks like a classic oldie. It sports white and green gradient background with a deep green plastic lid. The lid is of the screw-top type. My only gripe is that it could have a flip-top lid; screw-tops are problematic when you have mud-covered hands!

PACKAGING This mask comes in both tube form and tub form. I, personally, prefer the tube and am not such a fan of the tub. I think it's just because the tubes are easier to carry around, for example, if staying overnight somewhere, and so on. The tub is more economical, though, it has to be said.

Like the image, mine has the "33% free" slogan across the top. I also love how "Queen Helene" is in red, contrasting with the greens and whites.

TEXTURE This is basically the typical clay mud found in the majority of masks. It is of a thick enough consistency whilst easy to apply and spread. I love this factor so much, it applies like a dream.
SCENT The scent of this item is gorgeous - the mint fragrance is so refreshing. However, the smell during and after removal of the product from my skin is really strong - it's actually Sulphur. It's like the rotten egg smell found in most hair removal creams. Not nice and a bad shock after the loveliness of the mint! One star removed partly because of the Sulphur smell.
TIPS ON USING MINT JULEP MASK To use this, I cleanse my face thoroughly then pat it with a towel, but not so that my face is completely dry. I find it easier to apply the mask if my skin is a little damp to start with. I layer it on, let it dry for about 30-40 minutes, before gently rinsing/scrubbing it off. It leaves your skin perfectly primer for a moisturiser or night cream.
PRICE The price is great and Julep Mask is good value for money. I will repurchase this at some point, despite the egg smell it omits. It works too well to not repurchase it.
AVAILABILITY Some people have said that they cannot find this item anywhere in stores, on the highstreet, etc. I recommend using a site such as drugstore.com as they provide excellent service and prices are the same as, if not cheaper than, the RRP.
Final notes
* I often used this as a spot treatment. I rarely get spots but I find hairspray or the arms of my glasses give me the odd tiny spot on my hairline. This mask not only dries them up instantly, it near-enough removes them completely. Overnight treatment is the best method, whilst sleeping.
Advantages: Great minty smell Disadvantages: a bit of a thick consistency
I bought this face mask after hearing REALLY rave reviews about it on an American website. Seriously, over 200 girls were shouting out that they'd found the mother of all face masks, so I just had to try it out myself..even though I'm trying not to get caught up in hype! The trouble was, you could only buy it from America..luckily after a few months, I found a website (below) that sold them. One of the main reasons why this was so popular was b/c ... ...However, this website charged a lot more and I didn't think it was that cheap for me! It cost me £5.99, plus p&p, which came to almost £10 for it, plus I got carried away and order the whole range of masks and face scrubs...I advise you heavily NOT to do that!
Anyway, I was very very excited when I got this in the post and used it that very night. I got 33% extra, which was cool, though the packaging was not nice at all and looked so cheap next ...

Advantages: A face mask for oily skin that really works Disadvantages: Hard to get out of tube
...out of your skin! The Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask leaves my skin tingly & refreshed!
So who is this product for? I wouldnt recommend it to anyone with dry or irritable skin, this is essentially a product for oily spotty skin. Used once or twice a week with a proper skin care routine, it can seriously improve your blackheads & oilyness. Its so fab that even my boyfriend has started pinching it!
Definitely value for money & would recommend to potential ...

Advantages: really works Disadvantages: hard to get out of the tube
I first heard of this face mask on a beauty forum. People there were saying about how fantastic this is, & being the mug for anything that will make my skin look better; I bought it, not really expecting much.
I was amazed when it arrived. The tube is massive, plus I had 33% extra fee with mine, which meant that in total I had over 200g of this. (sorry tried to compare this to my other stuff, only can't find any other face mask in g). For a fiver, ... ...what it said on the tin.
It is a large tube, which is white & green; it's about twice as large as many other face masks. It is quite distinct, although I wouldn't say it was eye catching. I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't heard so many good reviews about it.
The blurb on the tube promises to 'dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads and shrink enlarged pores'. It promises to do all this 'within minutes'. Sounds good?
The mask itself is ...

Advantages: It works, it's cheap, effectively uses natural ingredients Disadvantages: hard to get off, bottle is quite small
Looking at the ingredients, this product is one that stands out. It contains sulphur which is great for healing the skin and kaolin and bentonite clay which is great for drawing out impurities. After exfoliating my nose with nuskin finishing peel, I apply this mask overnight. The next day, I wash it off and there is a noticeable difference. The bigger oil clogs are reduced and the small ones are hardly noticeable. The nose area is clean and smooth ... ...very cheap (I live in Singapore and I bought it for $6.50). It has a minty smell that doesn't disturb me at all. The only downside to this product is that getting it off can be a bit hard. But I don't mind, as long as it does its job well. ...
