We use a brand called ILLY in a red banded tin which is also marked with the word "Espresso". I think it's important to make sure that whatever you buy, it says it is for espresso, which is ground very fine, almost like powdered instant coffee. The usual grade for percolators is probably too coarse and won't give up all its flavour on one pass of water, which is all you get in an espresso machine.
