Why? Because that's the only way you are going to be able to play Quidditch, in fact, if it's Quidditch you want to find out about then you best read this book.

...Quidditch, in fact, if it's Quidditch you want to find out about then you best read this book.
If you are a Harry Potter Fan, it's quite likely that you have found yourself reading about Harry’s favourite sport Quidditch in one of the Harry Potter books. J.K.Rowling wrote the Harry Potter series, a story about a young boy Wizard and his adventures, fighting against the evil Lord Voldemort. Harry attends Hogwart’s school of Witchcraft ... ...books to write fully about Quidditch - just able to explain a few of the important details to us as the series has gone on, but now, in "Quidditch through the ages" we are able to find out everything that we ever wanted to know about the game. Rowling shows her literary genius yet again by inventing a game - something that is very difficult to do, I’m sure you’ll agree. Rowling wrote this book to raise money for Comic Relief, 56 pages ...

As well as 'Qudditch through the Ages'you can also purchase 'Fantastic Beasts and where to find them' by Newt Scamander, which I believe is a set text for 'Care of magical creatures.' More on this later...when I have read it.

Chudley Cannons Rule Review ofQuidditch Through The Ages - J.K. Rowlingby
ImogenW
Advantages: As witty and entertaining as everything else she's ever written Disadvantages: Completely incomprehensible if you haven't read Potter
Have you ever tried to invent a card game? I don't mean mess with the rules on an exising one, that's just customising, I mean invent a completely new, original game. How about with balls or racquets? If you've ever tried, and I know I have, unless you have a lot more imagination than me (more than possible), it's much, much harder than you might think. But it's possibly only if you give it a go that you'll appreciate the scale of JK Rowling's achievement ... ...op anticipating another Rowling hagiography here (which is fine - I've already got your 2p, thanks), I should add that the invention of quiddich really is an imaginative feat on an impressive scale. For those who haven't read the potter books, it's the football of the wizarding world, a fast-paced game played on broomsticks with seven on each side and four separate balls. It comes complete with its own terminology ( Harry plays Seeker, other positions ...

...logo plastered onto them. Well, Quidditch is a sport played on broomsticks in the books. JK Rowling explains the game brilliantly - right from start to finish. The rules are explained and we always know what's going on. There are three types of ball in the game - Bludgers, the Quaffle, and the Golden Snitch. The aim of the game is to get the Quaffle through one of three hoops. The three hoops are defended by a player of the opposite team. The Bludgers ... ...the Gryffindor house team).
Quidditch is a popular addition to the Harry Potter books, adding to the excitement and magic to the books. Personally, I can never end a chapter without knowing who is going to win the game! Also, the sport adds to the rivalries between the different houses in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
In the early months of 2001, JK Rowling (the author of the Harry Potter books) released two books - Quidditch Through ...

Flying without wings Review ofQuidditch Through The Ages - J.K. Rowlingby

Advantages: doody little book, easy to read Disadvantages: none really, what you see is what you get
...Mentioned frequently in the novels, Quidditch has almost become believeable. In fact, in an interesting twist, this very book is mentioned in the novels as well. Quidditch Through The Ages sets out the rules, the background and the development of mordern Quidditch throughout the decades, and is full of interesting little facts and figures that the fans will love. It has so got various scribbled notes in the margins - supposedly by H.P himself, that ... ...faces of the older one's too. The book gives an appearance of a well-read, slightly dog-eared copy, obviously loved by Harry and carried around with him everywhere. Because its so small and thin, it does not take long to read - in fact I read it in 20 minutes (then again, i read a 400 page novel in 4and a half hours). At £3 it very cheap and a great little buy. ...
