Advantages: Great fun Disadvantages: Very large to store and transport
...sting instruments use (fifths tuning is G D A and E). This is because a tuning of fifths would created a very long finger stretch – probably too much for many players to play comfortably. The lowest string, the E, is the same pitch as the lowest E on a modern piano and is nearly three octaves below middle C. Having said this some Jazz musicians do tune to fifths as it makes playing a major tenth easier, sorry if this is boring to non musicians. Some basses have a fifth string and this can be either tuned to a deep B or C, or to a high C. To tune a double bass you turn the pegs (they are still called pegs although they are metal machine heads) to either tighten the string and so raise the pitch or loosen the string to lower the pitch.

Advantages: Almost Fully Customisable, Great Fail-Safe Features, Heavy Duty, Hidden Foot Spikes Disadvantages: Ridiculously Expensive! The Rubber Felts Tend To Go Missing, No Spares
...I own an H-2000 hi hat stand, and it is amazing! Its built especially so that you can have your slave pedal (from your double bass pedal or whatever pedal you cant to keep next to your hi-hat) right next too it without having to worry that a 3rd leg will be in the way.
*The cam is interchangeable with 4 different colour coded types allowing you to select the action of your hi-hat (slow then fast, fast consistent, slow consistent and fast then slow).
*The spring is also adjustable which allows you to change the strength of the feel of the hi-hat raising up. The clutch comes with a fail-safe nut and when tightened is meant to keep the cymbal from unscrewing it (it has saved me a million times!) However the clutch doesn't have a fail safe for keeping to the stem, which gets a little annoying because if you smack the wing nut, the top hi...

Advantages: Easy to use, aesthetically pleasing, good build quality Disadvantages: Lack of features will upset expert users.
...Gemini are one of the world's best known mixer manufacturers, and are usually high up on the sales figure tables. This is conclusive proof of just how much they know about making mixers. In fact the 626 is the most popular 'home' mixer out there.
I chose the 626 over the other possibilities after using my mates Gemini 676 mixer. The 676 is basically the same mixer, but with the addition of a sampler. Thinking that my keyboard has an on-board sampler, and the mixer has three input channels, then I figured it would be much better value to just buy the 626 and spend the other £50 on vinyl and another link cable, so I could hook up the keyboard.
Each channel has a line or phono input, changable by way of a Single Pole Double Throw switch on the face of the unit. The inputs are easy to connect up and have a nice snug feel to them...
