Before purchasing the Quinny Buzz I spent hours and hours reading reviews so as to make sure that I was making the right choice - which I did. So for this reason I am going to try to keep this review very simple and to the point.
I have the Quinny Buzz 2008 3 wheel model in strawberry. With it I purchased the Dreami carry cot, Maxi Cosi car seat and strawberry coloured footmuff. In total I paid £514 from Kiddisave.com
The frame and pushchair - folds down really easily and is easy to pick up and carry. Fits into the boot of our
Ford Focus with 1 wheel removed or if back seat is slightly forward. Has not been a problem for us. Wheels pop off with 1 button on each side. Adjustable handle bar allows you to get your perfect height (makes a big difference) The pushchair itself can be forward or rear facing which is perfect for my DD who changes her mind all of the time. My friend has a Jane and is very jealous of the Quinny for the rear facing option. The footmuff is a must accessory for the winter months. It zips up right around the baby just like a sleeping bag and gives you total piece of mind. I didn't buy the shopping basket but would definitely consider getting one. The black bag that attaches to the frame is excellent for storing your raincover. I also bought a cheap parasol without the special clip for the Quinny frame. This was false economy and I would certainly recommend buying the correct clip. My parasol fell off and broke within 5 weeks. You can't fit a lot of shopping onto the frame as it will tilt backwards but I have seen this as a blessing! The wheels are extremely smooth and with the front wheel locked it is really easy to run with unlike any Bugaboo, Jane or Mamas and Papas ones.
Carrycot - Fits perfectly onto the frame and can be done with 1 hand. Light enough to be able to put on with baby inside. We used the carrycot as a travel cot too. Raincover is extremely easy to put on and has an air hole in front to keep well vented. I did roll the Quinny blanket up to make a support around DD head in cot as she was quite small when first born. We used the carrycot until approx 2.5 months but DD was so keen to be upright we had to put her into the pushchair.
Car seat - Brilliant. DD was 6 pounds when she came home from the hospital. The support insert ensured that her head was kept in one place and that she was comfortable. She is still in the car seat now 10 months on and I am trying to keep her in it for as long as possible. We didn't buy the ISO fix base as our car is very old and didn't have the holes needed. However, it is really simple to install using the seatbelt and takes less than a minute each time. The car seat itself is really light and easy to carry. It fits onto the Quinny frame perfectly and is ideal for short shopping trips where you don't want to wake baby up. It took me 12 wks to realise that the sun canopy was tucked inside the plastic frame at the head of the car seat so don't make that mistake.
As you can tell I have been very impressed with this pushchair and would definitely recommend it to others.
Of course there are a few things that I would change which I have listed below but these would not be enough for me not to have bought this pushchair had I known:
*Front wheel gets jammed sometimes and so has to be locked in 1 position. Kiddisave recommended spraying with furniture polish which I haen't tried yet.*Raincover went very stiff during our skiing holiday and we were unable to get it onto the pushchair. Though to be fair it was minus 10 degrees celsius and it has never happened at home.
The Quinny lettering is coming away from the side of the frame.
The padded cushioning on the handle bar has torn slightly - this happened within 2 months but has not gotten any worse.
Overall I love my pushchair. My baby thoroughly enjoys being in it and will happily fall asleep in it at bed time if we aren't at home. It is extremely padded and comfortable unlike many of the more traditional pushchairs. It's funky, modern look also means that Daddy enjoys pushing it too.One last thing - in America everyone stopped to ask about my amazing stroller as it was awesome!!
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Advantages: Lightweight. Easily manoeuvered. Rear wheels clip off for easy storage.Forward or rearward facing pushchair. Disadvantages: Large rear wheels make whole frame quite wide when manoeuvering around rails in clothes shops.
