I wanted a Quinny Zapp and was put off by the price, when I was still lusting after one 2 months I decided it was time to take action and shop around!
~~Specification~~ Handle height: 106.5cm Folded: 69 x 27 x 30cm Weight: 8kg
~~Where to purchase~~ They are stocked by: Mothercare £150.00, although the Orange one is on sale for £130 at the moment Independent Baby Stockists - around £150 EBay - new and second hand
New from around £100 - £150 Second hand - I have seen them go between £80 - £120
After watching quite a few on EBay, I managed to buy an ex-demo one for £80! So I was pretty pleased, £150 seemed a bit steep to me! If you do purchase on EBay do not be fobbed off with a mega high postage price, this buggy is light!!!!!
~~Features~~ It is basically a 3 wheel buggy / stroller, I have found it brilliant for around town/shops etc, although not so good on uneven ground.
The main selling point that Quinny are using is it is the worlds smallest buggy when folded, it really does fold down small! They brag that it will fit into a car footwell - which it does in my little run around which is an achievement I have to say! When folded Quinny specify the dimensions as 69 x 27 x 30cm, I roughly measured it and would say that is fair. And….it's easy to collapse! Horrah! I'm probably at the low end of buggy folding geniuses and this came as a relief to me, if I can do it…well yep anyone can. There are 3 moves then you take the front wheel off (optional) each move is clearly numbered on the buggy!
The instructions that come with the buggy aren't brilliant but to be honest it was easy enough to figure out on my own.
There is a removable suncanopy which can be put in several positions, a raincover and little duffle bag that the folded buggy can go in. All co-ordinated I might add!
The front wheel swivels 360 degrees which is great for steering it around. It can be put in one fixed position if you want.
The braking system is good, just one little peddle over one wheel, you press the other side to release. It is an air pressured system.
~~Colours~~ There are a wide variety, some are more available than others:
Black Orange - on sale in some places Red Sand - hard to get hold of Navy Mauve Steel
I went for the mauve, purely because it was the one on offer ex-demo!
~~Any complaints~~ I am glad I waited in case I was on a whim as so to speak, but am very pleased with my long awaited buggy, the only thing I would say is that the handles are not adjustable, and while my partner and I do not find this a problem (they are in a good position for us) it might trouble others.
It is in one fixed position, does not recline etc.
Quick get the hand cream out!!!!! The handles have a lovely rubber grip bit on them, underneath it is hard plastic, so when out and about for a little while it can be a bit wearing on the hands.
~~Shop shop shopping~~ At risk of a bit of compare and contrast to my previous bulky travel system I do find it a bit inconvenient without the big shopping basket underneath! You can get a little net to put on the back for your shopping, but you can not load much into it. As the buggy is so lightweight if you hang heavy bags of the handles the minute you let go…..doesn't bear thinking about! So do not go buying any big bags of tatties in Sainsburys unless you fancy building up a bit of arm muscle.
~~A Bumpy ride?~~ As I say, the wheels are smooth so it is brilliant in the shops, smooth pavements, a dream in any shopping mall! It glides and feels like you are hardly pushing anything. This buggy does have a little suspension system underneath but there is no getting away from the fact that it does not have the big chunky wheels that the larger pushchairs have, this makes it rubbish on uneven ground and if you fancy a country walk or the beech, forget it! This is why I now have two buggys, much to boyfriends dismay! One is Baby's 4x4 the other a moped (Quinny)!!!!! It just does not seem possible to get a really small fold up buggy with the comfort and chunky wheels.
~~Any other accessories?~~ There is quite a range for this little buggy.
Maxi-Cosi seat. This is a car seat that can be put on the buggies frame for newborns (see picture below) I did not buy one of this, but intend to if anymore come along. The buggy on its own can be used from 6 months up to 13kg 15 months, with this seat it can be used from birth.
Cosy Toes / Footmuff All in co-ordinating colours for your buggy! These are around £40.00 although we got a cheaper one from Mothercare that fits fine
Bike carrier
~~Carry on flying?~~ One of the independent Baby shops in my home town of East Grinstead had the sales rep bragging to me that he carried a Quinny Zapp onto a plane as hand luggage. How true this is I do not know as I have not flown with the buggy or Baby for that matter yet, it is very compact in it's duffle bag and can imagine that you could get away with it, but might be questionable with some airlines.
~~Overall?~~ I love my Quinny Zapp! So does Baby, nice comfy harness and being able to see out the sides helps I think! He felt a bit exposed at first, but then he was sitting in one of these big old travel systems with bars etc in front of him and went around the town in his new buggy hanging onto his trouser legs, bless!!!! He loves it now and so do I, the weight is nothing and when I want to go out in the car with another Mummy and Baby we can fit everything in!
Advantages: Small, lightweight, easily manoeuvred Disadvantages: Struggles over rough terrain, not suitable for all ages, no basket
I bought my Quinny Zapp when my daughter was tiny, after falling in love with one at the registry office when we went to register her birth. As we struggled into the lift with our cumbersome, bulky travel system another new mum zipped (or zapped) in next to us, pushing her tiny pushchair with one hand, fitting into the very small amount of space we'd left beside our four-wheeled monstrosity. I'm not ashamed to admit - I damn near drooled. Three wheels, ... ...firmly attached to the stylish silver frame, it was practical, unusual and everything I now realised I wanted in a pushchair. Three weeks of nagging eventually persuaded mr monkeybelly, and I ordered and received my gorgeous new buggy, delivered by Kiddicare.com for what I considered to be a bargain £110.

...bill and it was the Quinny Zapp, advertised as the smallest folding buggy available it appealed as we were planning a holiday later in the year to Malta and had quite a few hassles with the Mclaren because of size on the last holiday.
The Quinny Zapp is average sized when erected but once folded it is nice and compact and the size of a medium holdall once in it's bag. To disassemble all you need to do is unclip the front wheel and push the support ... ...there as we had our Quinny and were all ready for the holiday and it stayed in the box until we set off for the airport.
The first experience of real use of the Quinny was when we arrived at the airport and stuck our littlest into it whilst waiting for our call for boarding and this is were we encountered our first problem(I know should have checked it fully before leaving).
When we unfolded it it all came together quickly and easily but be warned ...

Quinny Zapp
Working in a Baby Shop doesn’t really help my addiction to baby equipment. My 1 year old has had five buggies so far, and I can’t seem to stop, but thankfully if you chose your brands wisely they all will make a lot of their money back if you flog them on Ebay when you’re finished with them.
The Quinny Zapp is my current ‘second stroller’ (How bad do I sound, most people only have one!) and I bought it for very specific reasons.
Working ... ...purchases I make. When your Quinny Zapp folds down it is minute. I can easily pop it on the floor behind my seat and have the whole boot space for my goods. This has been my primary reason for owning it. To make this review easy to read I will break it down to Pros and Cons. It is very good to know these when choosing a stroller as you can get blinded by features and can miss how these will impact you as not all are as positive as they sound.

Advantages: Easy to Steer, Folds easily and compactly, looks smart Disadvantages: Not so great with curbs & steps, putting back up not as simple
I've had my Quinny Zapp for nearly a month now and am largely pleased with my investment. At around 150 pounds it is alot more expensive than most umbrella style buggies but it does have certain advantages over the conventional lightweight 4 wheel buggies that can make it worth the extra cost. I think it is suitable from around 6 months to 3 years and comes in a variety of colours.
First I'll briefly go into my reasons for buying the Quinny Zapp ... ...onto the bus.
The Quinny Zapp beats any of the 4 wheel lightweight buggies on steering and manouvrebility simply because of the three wheel design with swivel front wheel. I can spin the buggy rightround with one hand with my toddler in it whereas I found even steering the four wheel types awkward with one hand, never mind spinning them!
The problem I had lifting the buggy into the luggage compartment of the bus was solved by the fact that the ...

Advantages: small/compact/great for air travel Disadvantages: flimsy/no storage/strange put up method.
The ZAPP is my " holiday/car" buggy I keep it in the boot as its so very small and I travel with it,again for the same reason. I wouldnt have it as a main buggy for these reasons: no-where to put shopping, no adjustment in reclining, its up-right or nothing, its too small for tall toddlers and too big for tiny babies ( again as it doesnt adjust, its for 8 months to 2 really. Its really light so you pop a bag on the handle and BANG, its over. Its ... ...( although mine seems to like this!!!!) I have had it 18 months and still forget sometimes how to put it up, you have to do this weird foot pull out thing below, and as my glam sister-in-law said " well, how the heck are you supposed to do THIS in high heels?" Once when I had a real baby-brain on I just couldnt work it out ( hadnt used it in a few weeks) thought I sussed it and my baby in buggy slowly collasped into the pavement, quite neatly folded ...

Advantages: Easy to fit, easy to clean, compatible with some Quinny systems Disadvantages: Baby sweats more easily
We bought the Maxi-Cosi carseat to use with our QuinnyZapp travel system - lucky for us as otherwise we probably wouldn't have looked at it!
Initially this carseat seemed more expensive than some others, but as soon as we investigated in the shops I could certainly see why. It seems to be a higher quality than other, cheaper carseats on the market, with an interesting design that I've never seen elsewhere.
There is no assembly or fiddling required - all you need to do when you get this home is have a browse through the instructions, then off you go! Fixing the carseat into your vehicle using a seatbelt is very easy - I tend to be very easily confused (embarrassing but true) but even I find this very straightforward and obvious.
The seat comes complete with a cushion insert so that younger babies can lie in a more horizontal ...
Advantages: Small, compact and easy to fold. Disadvantages: Only lies back by a few centimetres
I recently bought one of the pushchairs for my youngest child, who is now 18 months old. Tthe reason for the purchase was I have a seven seat car, but I wanted the use of all of my seats and the pushchair that I had was so big that I had to drop one of the back seats constantly to fit it in. After much consideration and hours of internet trawling I was torn between the Britax Verve and the QuinnyZapp so I went to the place I have bought my last four pushchairs (three children) Top Image Nursey in Newport,Gwent and looked at both of my options. I have always found that the service that I have had in this shop to be of a much higher standard than at a high street chain. I put my son into each of the pushchairs and he seemed to have a lot more room in the Britax than he did in the Quinny and also the Britax is almost 2 pounds lighter ...

I bought this pram after I had a QuinnyZapp which the tyres kept punctured. So I decided to upgrade to the bugaboo as it has the foam filled tyres. Sure enough I haven't had any problems with the tyres, however after just over a year, screws on the adjustable handle have dropped out and the locking mechanism on the handle has also broken. I did some research and it appears that this is a common problem. Hopefully bugaboo will sort this out otherwise another chassis replacement would be expensive.
I have found that although the small front wheels are fine about town as soon as you get off road the pram becomes quite difficult to push. Bugaboo suggests that you turn the handle round and push with the bigger back tyres at the front, though I have found this uneffective as it is fine if you want to keep going in a straight line but as soon ...
