Advantages Tasty, simple, price
Disadvantages Nothing really, more garlic would be nice :o)
As you can guess I’m a huge fan of Quorn products, always on the look out for offers as they can be somewhat pricey. Plus as my partner is a “meat eater” I love these types of Quorn products as my partner will eat this too, so that means I don’t have to cook two different meals!
I love Quorn products and this one is clearly one of the favourites in my household. In one box you get two fillets, which are a very good size. I’m on my fourth box of these beauties now but of course not one after another!
I do find it hard sometimes when it comes to meal times as normally I will have to cook two different meals being as my partner loves his meat dishes. So I’m really happy he likes these too and it means less cooking for me!These fillets are chicken style with a garlic and herb coating, the coating is extremely tasty. You can taste a mix of herbs with a hint of garlic. Personally I would like a stronger garlic taste but I really love garlic! The fillets are very well coated and once cooked they have a nice texture, a little crunch but teeth breaking.
They are very easy to cook, you can either place them in the oven or grill them and they only take 18-20 minutes to cook. So far I have always put them in the oven (plus it does say on the packaging for best results oven cook) and whilst cooking you get a lovely aroma of garlic floating around your kitchen. When I first cooked them I was thinking I hope they taste as good as they smell, and they certainly did! When taking the first bite I loved them straight away, the quorn middle was soft and just melted in your mouth – very morish I can tell you! The softer inside teamed very well with the light crunch of the coating and each bite was scrumptious.
You normally find these in the freezer section; they are to be kept frozen and cooked from frozen. It comes in the normal style green Quorn packaging with its orange logo. Personally I find the packaging to stand out in the freezer section as the first thing you notice is the Quorn logo. The packaging contains all the information you normally want to find.Contains – Egg, milk and wheat gluten.
Source of fibre and low in saturated fat.
Glad I spotted them in Asda for a bargain price of only £1.00 per box, they are tasty, certainly leave you feeling full. The coating and filling balance well together and it makes for a quick and simple meal. I will certainly buy them again, on offer if possible! But even then £2.00 a box isn’t to bad really given the quality you’re getting.
Five out of five stars from me.
