I prefer Linda McCartney burgers to these, you see. Linda McCartney burgers don’t taste like real burgers, but are divine. I never was a big fan of burgers when I was non-veggie. I eat them, but never really loved them.

So, when Quorn came along I was thrilled. I had the perfect duo. Linda McCartney because I loooved them, but didn’t like Quorn ones. And Quorn because I loved them in a bap but not alone! Woohoo!
The Taste?
Well, the edges of the burger can be hard when cooked, but the mixture of the “meat” and cut onions is divine if you like real burgers.
When you think of veggie foods, you don’t think they taste like real meat. Well, why should they? They aren’t meat, so how can they taste like meat? Well, I don’t know how it’s done, but Quorn have managed to make burgers that taste exactly like real one’s.
I prefer Linda McCartney burgers to these, you see. Linda McCartney burgers don’t taste like real burgers, but are divine. I never was a big fan of burgers when I was non-veggie. I eat them, but never really loved them.
But, when I did turn veggie, Linda McCartney burgers were great. There was a hint of burger taste in it, but was much nicer. But then, when I shoved it in a bap it wasn’t the same. I cried! Oh, yes, I cried! Well wouldn’t you if you couldn’t enjoy your burger in a bap?
So, when Quorn came along I was thrilled. I had the perfect duo. Linda McCartney because I loooved them, but didn’t like Quorn ones. And Quorn because I loved them in a bap but not alone! Woohoo!
The Taste? Well, the edges of the burger can be hard when cooked, but the mixture of the “meat” and cut onions is divine if you like real burgers.
They’re especially nice if you barbecue them, and this brings out the real taste. The “meat” at times can be very chewy, and although real burgers are, these can be a bit like rubber.
A good thing about them is the taste is exactly like real burger. Honest and truly you can’t tell the difference between the two.
The packaging? Like most packaging the picture on the box is always different to the real thing. But, a shocker is – this time it looks nicer in your home than on the box, which is strange! On the box it looks a bit under-cooked, so that might be the reason it looks a bit yucky!
The packaging is also pretty welcoming – other than the pic! – And has a bright white background with Quorn written in the left-hand corner.
The Smell? The smell, also like the taste is like real burgers, is ok. It doesn’t make you want to eat loads and loads, but it is nice and is like the taste of the burger that you’re about to eat!
The Price? The price is ok, but like all veggie foods they are a bit expensive, but if you’re a veggie and miss your old burgers, then these are absolutely perfect for you whatever the price!
But, if you’re one of those people who eat meat, but get veggie food anyway because it tastes better, this isn’t for you. This reason is because it tastes exactly like real burgers, and the real burgers are cheaper, so what’s the point of paying more if the two products are almost identical? Well, the answer – a pig’s life.
(Don’t worry I won’t lecture you! If you eat meat, you eat meat. If you don’t, you don’t. Plus you save animals lives!)
All in all. This is a good product. But, because I don’t like real meat alone, this isn’t for me! But if you love meat this is a perfect alternative for a veggie!
Advantages: A cheap protein substitute. Disadvantages: Allergenic.
...his teeth into.
The Quorn Lamb-Burgers looked the business with the label informing me “mushroom in origin,” and “made from a small, unassuming member of the mushroom family.” So the vegetarian meal of Quorn Burgers, buttery mash, mushy peas and onion gravy was very tasty and enjoyed by both of us.
Within two hours of eating the meal Morty was violently ill. He was dreadfully ill all night long and at one stage when he asked ... ...swimming session and eating a Quorn product, then the realisation on the third night of no sleep and buckets that he hadn’t been swimming but had eaten a Quorn based meal we came to the conclusion: Swimming? No! Quorn? Yes, an allergy!
Once I apologised profusely for feeding the poor man something that he was fiercely allergic to and swearing I wasn’t trying to see him off by blaming the swimming baths, I decided to investigate this ...

Advantages: Great alternative to the real thing Disadvantages: Bit dry
...not a vegetarian. I eat quorn 'cos its low in fat and I like my 'meat' to taste like meat.
I discovered quorn a while back whilst looking for an alternative to fatty foods. Quorn is meat free! They have many products in their range from sausages and mince to full meals like tikka masala. I started with the sausages and were so impressed with the taste that I'm working my way through the products. The sausages are great, the hamburgers are good, ... ...usually found with various other quorn products. You can recognise them by the white packaging and the large gradient orange to yellow oval logo in the centre of the packaging with the word quorn written in white. They cost about £2 for two burgers which is quite high compared to other burgers but cheap compared the real meat alternative.
The blurb on the packet gives a bit of history about the company but not much . 'In 1967 the founders of Quorn ...

Advantages: Perhaps attractive to meat-eaters Disadvantages: Dry, brown, with a digusting meat taste
...varied dishes produced under the Quorn name. However, the so-called lamb burgers are, in my opinion, the worst in the range. As a long-term vegetarian I realise that I have developed a distrust of brown food but I thought, despite their unwholesome appearance, I would give the product a try. Grilled as directed on the packet, the cutlets turned out to be extremely dry with an unpleasant texture. They would certainly need mint sauce and/or gravy if ... ...enjoy the sort of muck odour that these cutlets reeked of.
I can only suppose that Quorn has added this product to the range solely for meat-eaters who wish to pose as vegetarians. It certainly is not a food that I would have thought a vegetarian would enjoy. ...

Quick review of Quorn Lamb Burgers
I, like many other people, cannot digest Qorn in any shape or flavour. A couple of hours after eating it, I am violently sick. So violently sick that I am incapacitated for hours. I contaced Marlow foods in the late 1980s about this, only to receive a lengthy questionnaire regarding other allergies--which was totally irrelvant, as this is the only 'food' to ever have caused such a reaction.
I'm afraid that I find it impossible to praise anything at all about the Quorn range; because of my experience, I merely lament the fact that so many restaurants and cafes serve it, believing it to a 'natural' alternative for non-meat eaters. ...

...so that you can spot Quorn products on the shelf without having to search for ages. Quorn lamb burgers have a divine and unique taste to them. In only 6 years of being a vegetarian I have to say this is one of the tastiest veggie-friendly products I have tried. The texture is delicious along with the appetising aroma and gorgeous taste.
The only problem I believe this product has is that the price is quite high for only 2 lamb burgers and if you're ...
