Kingston: The Daddy of the RAM world!
Review of Kingston ValueRAM DRAM 1 GB PC2-4200 by
legeo80
Advantages: Great performance, easy installation, good price.
Disadvantages: None so far!
...per usual, when you buy Kingston RAM you can be sure you're going to get a quality product.
Just because this is labelled as "ValueRam", be assured that your expectations need not drop. The performance boost very noticeable, and the RAM itself is very easy to install. These beauties are specifically designed with the whitebox user in mind!
When I first bought it, as soon as I put it in the speed increase was instantly noticeable. I'd been having ... ...games I'd play were a little sluggish, but the RAM sorted that out. It might not seem like much of an issue to people who don't game as much, but to us it really is one!
But yeah, wether it's for gaming, or even just a boost for your general PC performance, then this is definately the way to go. And at the price too, it does compete easily with all it's competitors. ...

OCZ Platinum 2GB Ram
Review of OCZ Platinum DRAM 2 GB PC3-14400 by
03esmit
Advantages: Super Fast
Disadvantages: A bit expencive for an average system!
I purchased the OCZ 2gb (2 x 1gb) Platinum ram when i revamped my PC. What a difference it makes! I have never been able to open so many applications, and switch between them so quickly.
The installation was very quick. One complication though. Although the packet does not tell you, the ram runs at 2.2 volts, not 1.8 which computer are default set to. This is because the ram is designed for gaming, and so is more power hungry. If the voltage is ... ...high usage programs such as design suits. Before I bought the ram i was using OCZ Gold, which I would recommend for anybody who just wants a faster system. It is much cheaper than platinum, but not quite as fast, installation is the same though, the voltage still needs tweaking. ...

Corsair DDR2 6400C4 800mhz 2GB (2x1GB pair)
Review of Corsair XMS2 DRAM 2 GB PC2-5400 by
ClockworkUniverse42
Advantages: Excellent speeds, reliable, very cheap, decent overclocking potential
Disadvantages: Slightly poor quality of heatsink
Unfortunately the link to the Corsair XMS2 DRAM 2GB PC2-6400 C4 only goes to this page. So here's where I'll write my review!
I'm going to just go ahead and state it right at the beginning - this is some excellent memory. It's fast (800mhz), it has lower timings (4-4-4-12), it's reliable, and it's very cheap. You can pick the 2GB set of two modules up from £35 anywhere now, which is a phenomenally low price. That's really the hallmark of this product ... ...running games in Windows Vista, there's really no need to have 4GB of memory; even the most demanding game you can run won't use more than 2GB RAM. That's why I recommend this 2GB set to everyone I help construct computers. Not only it is fast, and so brilliant for games of all sorts, it's also cheap, so it's great for those with more basic computer needs as well. From running to instances of Eve Online on one computer to running multiple applications ...

Memory with heatsinks? That makes a change
Review of Corsair XMS2 DHX DRAM 2 GB PC2-6400 by
Closeratio
Advantages: Reliable, can be overclocked easily, to a point
Disadvantages: The heatsinks may take up too much space in a machine using a small case
...in making the RAM, as corsair is well known in the computing industry to be one of the most reliable suppliers of computer components.
If you're looking for an upgrade or even looking for some memory to put into a new computer, then you can't go wrong with this. It's reliable and runs cooler due to the large heatsinks, which also allow it to be overclocked more than standard RAM without heatsinks. ...
