Advantages Advantages Small, light, pretty good sound quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not enough memory, LCD display is too small to be legible, software isn't too hot, very slow at transferring files

If all you're after is a half-way decent MP3 player, then this does the job just fine, but it's hardly the best one out there. The 32MB of storage space that comes with it as standard is nothing like enough, so the first thing you'll want to buy is a SmartMedia card, which will add another £50 or so to the cost of the unit. Anyway, that aside, the unit is easy enough to use; everything you need comes in the box and the software installs easily enough. The software itself is... well, functional, I suppose. You'll probably want to stick with whatever MP3 software you currently use, and use the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Now old technology

I bought the JazPiper when it had just come out, and it was then the best MP3 player on the market. Then it was an excellent player, and won several awards. However, as with all new technology, it was soon outclassed by a whole host of new MP3 players with more memory, longer playback time and better facilities. Some good points and bad points are below: GOOD POINTS: - Stylish, sleek design - Good transfer rate from PC to player - up to over a megabyte per second - Skips between tracks easily and quickly - Voice record - over 2 hours of recording - 10 hours playback (alright) BAD POINTS: ... more

Advantages Advantages Small, light, skip-free and plays mp3s

Disadvantages Disadvantages doesn't hold enough, flash cards are very expensive

I bought my Jazpiper mp3 player well over a year ago now. It cost around £180 including a 32Mb flash media card boosting the storage to 64Mb. I have to say that I bought it for pure swank, because I didn't know anybody else who had one and it seemed pretty cool. The reality however was not so idyllic. After the initial joy/amazement about this pretty bit of kit (mmm, silver) I started to get irritated by some of the details. The fact that there were no drivers for Windows NT (admittedly fixed now although you still have to download it for "old" models like mine) did annoy me. The batteries ... more

    User doesn't recommend the product

    Advantages Advantages SMall and Cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sound Quality, Battery Life and Initial Memory size

I personally do not own this product, I have only borrowed it from family for a holiday. I received the player off my cousin for my 2 weeks trip to america with one thing on my mind: Getting some good songs uploaded to it. I got to my room with the player, data cable and software CD. The istallations of the program and uploading of files is really easy, the first bad point I noticed is just how quick the memory space was used up. I only had about 2-3 songs on when i realised i could only fit one more on! This point really annoyed me as songs would become very boring if repeated this often ... more
