I had got my blackberry 9700 bold as a birthday present from a friend. My first reaction? Hope this doesnt fall... As much as I loved the phone (and believe me I really did), I knew their fragility from experience. This is why i went on the lookout for a case, one which could actually protect my blackberry, without being to much of a burden.

This case is exactly that. It is the made for the blackberry models, not sure the exact ones but it is more than capable of doing ones around the 9700 Bold type. The case is made of black leather with a nice finish, and it goes really well with the colour of Blackberrys. It has a flap on the top, with a magnet inside, which makes it almost impossible not to close. It features the blackberry logo, embossed on the bottom of the potruding flap. It also has an attachment for a strap, which i personally have taken off as i do not use it, meaning it just gets in the way.

As stated previously, the safety was the most important factor for me when choosing a case and this more than fulfils that. I have dropped it umpteen times from my hand, a fall of over 4 feet, yet not a single scratch has befallen it. It really is much stornger than it looks, I`m sure if i throw it at the wall there still wont be any damage to the blackberry inside (though i would really not reccomend it).

The only other feature in this case is its affect on the blackberry. As soon as a blackberry phone is placed inside of it, the phone transfers into standby mode, conserving precious battery life. This is a really neat feature and is the first i have seen amongst phone cases.

The annoying thing about this case is the fact that you have to open the strap each time you wish to view the phone, which may sound like lazy but it does get on your nerves. Espeially when you are busy and only have 1 spare hand. The magnet inside the strap doesnt really help with this issue, just makes it worse.

Another improvement could be making the case waterproof and closing up the "holes" at the bottom. I know that I would be devestated if my £200 phone got water damaged, and i believe that a case that cost £20 should be able to protect it against that.
