A Review of ROC Facial Cleansing Wipes. I have never before tried any of the ROC products, purely because they are too pricey for me and the brand has not appealed to me. I purchased this particular product from my local Boots store after receiving a coupon for £5 towards branded facial products-including the ROC range. I wanted to take advantage of this coupon and so went to have a look to see what I could find...........................................................................................................................................
Price: I paid just £1.49 for this product, as I had a £5 coupon to put towards it. A pack of 25 wipes costs £6.49. I find this quite pricey for facial wipes, and as I use one of these a day to wipe off and cleanse my face at the end of the day-I feel this is not very good value for money. I do understand that the reason
for this is the quality of product though.
The Brand: As I don't really know much about the ROC brand, only just a bit from watching advertisements on TV-I went to the website (www.rocskincare.com). I discovered that the ROC brand is a Johnson & Johnson Consumer Company, and they claim to be the French anti-ageingskin care experts. Although I am only 28 years of age I do think about my skin now and how to take care of it, mainly for the future. ROC was founded in 1957 in France by pharmacist Jean-Charles Lissarrague and a collaboration of dermatologists. The brand seems very scientific-based, but I am impressed by the professional quality and cleanness to the design of the products and ultimately the products themselves.
Packaging: I am really coming to like using facial wipes as a way of wiping off my make-up at the end of the day-it gives me a chance to really feel like I'm wiping it all off and it's not so messy! Very quick and easy to take with you when on holiday a pack of wipes is very appealing. I like the freshness the wipes give too, and the pack id just like any other I have had-easy to open and use and peel back. The ROC brand is very minimal looking, very clean with white and blue colourings. A lot of the text is written in so many languages on the back so it's hard to find the English text-but when you do it's easy to read and I like the ROC logo it's once again scientific looking (a mixing dish), together with the catchy ROC slogan: 'We keep our promises'.
Product: ROC say that: 'RoC Alcohol-FreeCleansing Wipes are as effective as traditional cleansing, but much faster. The cleansing wipes deeply cleanse and remove traces of make-up in one easy step, to leave skin feeling cleansed, refreshed and hydrated.' They also include that this product is:
·Ophthalmologically tested ·Dermatologically tested ·Alcohol free ·Suitable for all skin types ·Non comedogenic (won't clog pores)
The ingredients in these wipes include: Cetyl Palmitate, Methylparaben and Citric Acid. I prefer products with more natural ingredients in to be honest. You cannot dispose of these wipes down the toilet.
Use: After a long hard day I whipp out a wipe to use, very quick and easy to do. I wear a fair bit of make-up and like a wipe that really removes it all, and although I don't wear waterproof mascara I'm sure this product would take that off too-as most wipes I have used do. The wipes don't really have much scent to them, they are white in colour and feel nice to touch. I wipe the product all over my face and neck and it feels cool on my skin. The first time I used one of these wipes I did notice a slight tingling sensation on my cheeks and over my eyes, a slight reaction to the product. I do have quite sensitive skin, however I noticed that from the second use onwards I am fine now withy no reaction. I must stress that this first tingling did not last and was very mild.
All of my make-up was removed onto the wipe and it was a good size wipe too. Afterwards my skin felt really fresh and very soft to touch which was lovely. I am pleased with the result of these wipes.
Conclusion: Although I am impressed by both the ROC brand and the quality of the wipes themselves, compared to other brand wipes which are much cheaper-they are not really worth the extra cash. I am pleased I have been able to try these with the help of the Boots coupon! And it has been great to discover more about the ROC brand which seems very trusted and professional. I like the fact that these wipes clear away all make-up and leave skin feeling fresh and smooth, I am a fan of facial wipes in general for their quickness and good contact with the skin that you don't always get with a lotion or a facial wash. I would recommend this product, however would make a note of caution for those with sensitive skin as I had a slight reaction to these wipes on first use.
