The latest book to head my way is none other than 'RSPV', written by author Tara Moore. Now when I first saw the book I had no idea what it was going to be like. I had never heard of Tara Moore before so her style was going to be completely new to me. However, the cover of the book itself is incredibly attractive. All we see is the neck and lower face of a woman, with a large glittering necklace around her neck. Now for ages I thought this read 'RSUP', ...

Now for ages I thought this read 'RSUP', and it wasn't until I went to find out more about the author before reading did I realise that this necklace actually read 'RSVP'. With that embarrassment out of the way, I was truly looking forward to reading.

The book tells the story of fiancées Rossa Granville and Ashling Morrison. Happily in love and planning their wedding, a problem arises almost instantly. First of all, Rossa's family seem to be taking over the whole event. And to make matters worse, Ashling's mother, Coppelia Morrison, does not approve of the marriage one bit. In fact, she claims that the Granville clan once came close to ruining her own life. Curious and annoyed, Ashling tries to find out just what happened those years ago to make Coppelia find an enemy in the Granvilles. Though whether she finds out the truth and goes ahead with the wedding is a different story...

I must say, I simply adore this story. It reminds me in some ways of Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet', which I am very fond of. These two families are completely different, from different walks of life and have different personalities. I find that this makes quite an interesting read, with the story told from two classes.

The way the book is written is also quite interesting. Normally I like my books to stick to one setting, but this one does not. However I found it to be quite easy to follow and full of all the right information as it flitters between Ireland and various locations within the first few chapters. The style of the author is so incredibly descriptive that it is almost impossible not to have a picture perfect image of what is going on in your head. The language is so powerful, each word having such an impact on the next.

With its realistic characters incredibly realistic, it makes this book easier to understand. Okay so personally I do not have similarities with any of the families, yet I still felt like I could understand them, and respected their points of views throughout the story. For the characters alone it is worth the read.

'RSVP' will be released in January 2010. My copy is a proof copy, the last of the five I won from Waterstones (and I have been told five more are being sent my way soon, which is quite exciting!). It will cost you around £10 from stores such as WHSmith and Waterstones, as well as Amazon.co.uk, as the price stands though it may just have a promotional price as bookstores tend to do (ie '3 for 2' or Buy One Get One Half Price). It is definitely worth seeing if you can locate a copy, even at your local library, as it is well worth a read.

This may be the first book by Tara Moore that I have read, but I have a feeling it most certainly will not be the last. I look forward to seeing what else she has in store and cannot wait to get my hands on more of her work. Until then though I will enjoy the memory of this book, and would highly recommend it to all.
