WHAT'S RABBITING ON?

Rabbiting On is a quarterly magazine published by the Rabbit Welfare Association. Proceeds go to the Rabbit Welfare Fund.

WHAT'S IN THE MAG?

"The Rabbit Welfare Fund aims to improve the quality of life of pet rabbits in the UK." That's their mission statement, and this is the ethos on which Rabbiting On is based. The magazine has regular articles on rabbit behaviour, health checks and early warning signs of illness (a sort of bunny MOT!), and any other rabbit-y news. There's a team of experts that readers can write to, as well as a general letters page and reader competitions (including the coveted Bunny Of The Year!). Other topics covered have been: travelling with a rabbit, dental disease, rabbits and toddlers.

The magazine also contains adverts, all aimed at rabbit owners. This would also be useful for anyone thinking of getting a rabbit, to help them figure out the cost of their initial outlay.

SHOULD I BUY IT?

If you have a rabbit, you should buy this magazine. Even if you've had rabbits for years and know it all. The proceeds go to a good cause and any rabbit owner will enjoy the articles and competitions.

If you're thinking of getting a rabbit, you should read this magazine. Rabbits are currently the third most popular pet in the UK, and sadly the most neglected. The articles and features in Rabbiting On will help you to have a rewarding and fulfilling relationship with your new pet - and the donation to the RWF will help those rabbits currently living in shelters.

If you are not interested in rabbits or rabbit keeping, this magazine may not be for you.

VALUE FOR MONEY

The cover price is £4.00. In my opinion this is expensive for what you get (although proceeds go to a good cause). However, Rabbiting On is free to all RWA members. Annual RWA subscription charge for adults is £17.50; this is definitely better value for money than buying the magazine.

Rabbiting On is available via the RWA only. Log on to www.rabbitwelfare.co.uk or write to RWA, PO Box 603, Horsham, RH13 5WL.
