Race Driver: Grid captures the atmosphere of every race, from the starting grid to the finishing flag. It's spectacular graphics set it apart from the rest with realistic and licensed cars that make the game as thrilling as it is. When you first start the career mode you set in an American muscle car race in the streets of Detroit. Your aim obviously to win the race but, this is the first time that you see the extent of the graphics and realistic sound effects. After finishing this race you have to race for other teams so you can gain enough money to refurbish your Ford Mustang Boss to mint condition. Once you have done this you are able to create your own team,this allowing you to enter any race that you wish, which you have a car for, as you work your way through you gain enough moeny to buy different cars. After a few races in every season that you get the chance to enter the prestigious 24hr Le Mans Race, at the start you have the money to buy a million pound car meaining that you can either skip it or enter with a different team. As you slowly progress through the ranks you can gain reputation through more difficult championships and select a harder difficulty. Once you have gained 1 more license apart from your three original which you gain after the first race. As usual there is a single race choice from the main menu and you can choose any of the events available, and any of the cars that you can use in those specific events. Strangely for the 24hr Le Mans you can choose how long you want the race to be and the default for the career is 12mins so don't worry, but you go to 24mins, 1hour, 2hours, 4hours, 6hours, 12hours, and 24hours. I tried the 60 mins but got halfway through and i crashed thus wrecking my car. Online can be entertaining with many people from around the world where you can test your skills against people from around the world, destruction derby races appear to be the most popular mainly due to the amount of fun that you can have while playing. A download pack has been released which brings 6 new cars and 3 new races to the race day and online modes In my opinion i see this as a classic game that you cannot really get tired of with graphics that can compete with any game out at the moment.
