Ummmmmm...
Advantages: Database constantly updated, easy to set-up Disadvantages: ...the quiet moments worry me!
...new buildings overnight.
The Snooper S3 GPS, Laser and Radar speed camera detector is one of the only systems on the market to combine all three technologies.
In essence it detects: Gatso safety cameras, Specs camera systems, Truvelo cameras, Digital cameras, accident hotspots and Laser guns!
The database seems fairly extensive (certainly round Stafford), and is updated every other day, so less of a worry with new cameras going up and leaving ... ...UK speed camera database
Snooper AURA speed camera subscription - £2.99 a month, £7.99 a quarter, £29.99 a year
and comes with a 2 Years manufacturers guarantee
I am not sure of the longevity of this product, as keeping your eyes on the road and your speed seem a more reliable option!
Fits easily in your pocket or bag at journeys end, and plugs straight into the cigarette lighter for charging.
It seems to me to have moments of incredible laziness, ...

ROAD ANGEL 6000 - UK Map update costs £50 extra
Advantages: Nice small unit Disadvantages: Costs a fortune to keep it up to date
ROAD ANGEL 6000
Do you know that UK map updates are not included in the mnthly subscription, so despite you paying almost £50 a year in updates subscription, you have to pay a further £50 for a UK map update.
As there are new roads and changes to priority etc almost every week across the UK, it means realistically you are never going to be up to date other than just after you bung the £50 for the map update.
I thought my subscription included ... ...locations and black spots and if there is a new road (such as the A30 opened 12 months ago), my system does not even show the road, to get it to do that is £50 extra.
I think this is a ripp off and it was never made clear when I purchased it that this was the case.
Suggest you check before you buy a sat nav (what ever make it might be) ...

Snooper S6R & S6RLD
Advantages: None Disadvantages: False Sense of Secuity - Picks up everthing EXCEPT Speed Detectors
...did not detect them. So Snooper telling me that they couldn't have been pointing it at me is just wrong!!
I sent the whole lot back to them just before Christmas and it has now been returned to me. They say there is nothing wrong with the laser and they have changed the phone number in the unit. When I asked if I would get a refund for the Subs as I had not been able to download anything I was told no!!
Not happy and bitterly disappointed. ...

Poor effort at a great idea
Advantages: Great in theory, looks 'gadgety' Disadvantages: Unreliable warnings
I bought this device because it seemed to be a cheap, yet well-featured radar detector - it is cheap, but it isn't what I would call a radar detector. It seems to me that it detects anything that emits any sort of electronic interference whatever. Driving through a little town in Sussex called Horsham, where there are very few speed cameras, I was almost permanently being warned that I was very close to a camera. Every time I passed a set of traffic ... ...camera, I was warned. I'm struggling to think of why anyone would want this after using it for a week. The idea behind it is of course magnificent - when you approach a camera, the light starts to flash, and a warning beep is given. Your proximity to the camera determines the frequency of the beeps and flashes. The convenience of this idea will give you an idea of how irritating it is when misused - and this device is, I'm afraid, a misuse of technology!
