ROAD ANGEL 6000 - UK Map update costs £50 extra
Advantages: Nice small unit Disadvantages: Costs a fortune to keep it up to date
ROAD ANGEL 6000
Do you know that UK map updates are not included in the mnthly subscription, so despite you paying almost £50 a year in updates subscription, you have to pay a further £50 for a UK map update.
As there are new roads and changes to priority etc almost every week across the UK, it means realistically you are never going to be up to date other than just after you bung the £50 for the map update.
I thought my subscription included ... ...locations and black spots and if there is a new road (such as the A30 opened 12 months ago), my system does not even show the road, to get it to do that is £50 extra.
I think this is a ripp off and it was never made clear when I purchased it that this was the case.
Suggest you check before you buy a sat nav (what ever make it might be) ...

Excellent product
Advantages: Picks up all types of camera even mobile Disadvantages: Alert gets very loud when camera is very near
...site which is very useful and being able to program where a mobile camera has been before is helpful as police tend to visit the same place on a regular basis so the road angel will alert every time whether the camera is there or not. Overall an excellent product ...

Rapidly Aging Road Angel
Advantages: GPS camera detector, laser detector. easy to use Disadvantages: ugly, has to be updated which will cost money, no speed limit notice
I bought my Road Angel about 12 months ago and was lucky enough to get an 18 month license for updates free with it.
This camera detector doesn't sense the camera or its radar or infra red signal but responds to a satellite signal warning you that a camera is coming up. It has given a few false alarms but usually these are mobile sites so you can't be sure anyway. The unit comes with a mounting bracket and suckers, a USB cable, charging cable for ... ...Although I still use my Road Angel, I actually prefer the warnings on my TomTom 910, You can download them as often as you want and they don't really cost you a penny. Plus you get a better idea of where the camera is situated and what kind it is and the speed limit. I only continue using the Road Angel on the off-chance that the laser detector might save my neck. ...

Ummmmmm...
Advantages: Database constantly updated, easy to set-up Disadvantages: ...the quiet moments worry me!
...new buildings overnight.
The Snooper S3 GPS, Laser and Radar speed camera detector is one of the only systems on the market to combine all three technologies.
In essence it detects: Gatso safety cameras, Specs camera systems, Truvelo cameras, Digital cameras, accident hotspots and Laser guns!
The database seems fairly extensive (certainly round Stafford), and is updated every other day, so less of a worry with new cameras going up and leaving ... ...UK speed camera database
Snooper AURA speed camera subscription - £2.99 a month, £7.99 a quarter, £29.99 a year
and comes with a 2 Years manufacturers guarantee
I am not sure of the longevity of this product, as keeping your eyes on the road and your speed seem a more reliable option!
Fits easily in your pocket or bag at journeys end, and plugs straight into the cigarette lighter for charging.
It seems to me to have moments of incredible laziness, ...
