Sons Chirstmas present
Review of Nikko 1972 Firebird RC Car by Denne

Advantages: Reliability
Disadvantages: recharge time

I bought this product for my 9 year old son for a Christmas present last year and I can say that it is a wonderful gift to give a son/daughter. It was fun for all the family as we stood on the street playing with the car for many hours. The battery life was very long lasting and endured for many hours. The recharge took a while, but it is worth it. The car's speed is fairly fast, not as fast as other RC cars on the market, but for the price you ... Read review

'Robosapien'
Review of Robosapien by TOMMY3192

Advantages: Massive amount of differnet controls/settings/functions
Disadvantages: Will start to get SLIGHTLY boring after a couple of weeks.

At the time this was released, it had to be THE best piece of technology around, and still manges to hold its own weight now, despite the advancements, namely the V2 and the media edition of the robosapien. With a massive array of settings and controls, ranging from dancing, kung fu chops, walking, burping/farting and everything in between, this has to be one of the more fun toys i have played on. I have had endless hours of fun wit the programming ...
...robot to act them out on your behalf. Using a special detector within the robot, 'Robosapien' will automatically walk AWAY from objects such as chairs. The one problem with this is once you have gone through every command a couple of times, you will resort to bringing it out a couple of hours a week, rather than per day. ... Read review

Roboraptor
Review of RoboRaptor by TOMMY3192

Advantages: Great settings and functions for the price
Disadvantages: May be dissapointed if you have used Robosapien before

...kit considering the price. The roboraptor has the ability to roam, growl, move forward backwards, left and right, all controlled by a Playstation-esqe type of controller. When knocked on, the raptor growls, and moves its head. Every body movement made by the raptor is fuid, but the walking is slightly more robotic. By pressing sensor pads on the raptors back, you can make him run away. A nifty piece of technology, but do not expect the vast amount ... Read review

Got is as a present, now moving on to better stuff
Review of Nikko 3-channel RC Sky Watcher Helicopter by SkyWatcherVictim

Advantages: Sorry, None, Even the price is too much, compared to more serious models.
Disadvantages: Uncontrollable, Bad transmitter/receiver set, Too expensive, no replacement parts when damaged.

I got one as a present, two months ago, not hindered by any knowledge about rc helicopter flying. It took me about 2 hours to crash it in such a way that the helicopter was unrecoverable. ( broken tailboom ) The transmitter / receiver set is crap and caused me to loose control in the last crash. The helicopter was about 30 yards away from me and could not be controlled anymore. Having read a lot more about rc helicopters and buying a more serious ...
...the Nikko: -- The fact that it has only 3 channels for control makes it impossible to control. You need at least 4 channels to succesfully hover a helicopter: 1 Throttle ( up/down ) 2 Rotate tail 3 Forward / Backward ( elevators ) 4 Roll left / right ( ailerons ) For a few dollars more it is possible to buy a beginners helicopter that can be controlled instead of this toy. I made a choice to buy a Walkera HM004 as a beginners helicopter. ... Read review

The worst RC Car Ever
Review of Acme Tech Condor Pro Special Edition Nitro Radio Controlled Buggy by jamied222

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: All the parts are so poor quality

Purchased this car thinking that it would be easy to tune and maintain. Well I was certainly wrong about that. Opened the car to find instructions that weren't even instructions, the diagrams are very confusing with no labels, it does not tell you where the factory settings are for the carburettor screws, so after trouble tuning, I was told on the phone that I had to try and remember where the factory settings where! This is only the first of many ...
...the car turned out to be faulty, so my car flew off a full speed and crashed into a fence, they sent out a free receiver, and I paid £25 on spare parts to attempt to fix my car. The second receiver also turned out to be faulty, so my car crashed again, and this time I spent another £10 on spare parts. I fixed the car and after one tank of fuel the steering servo broke so I had no steering, at this point. I phoned Nitrotek up, and after a fuss they ... Read review
