Got is as a present, now moving on to better stuff
Advantages: Sorry, None, Even the price is too much, compared to more serious models. Disadvantages: Uncontrollable, Bad transmitter/receiver set, Too expensive, no replacement parts when damaged.
I got one as a present, two months ago, not hindered by any knowledge about rc helicopter flying.
It took me about 2 hours to crash it in such a way that the helicopter was unrecoverable. ( broken tailboom )
The transmitter / receiver set is crap and caused me to loose control in the last crash. The helicopter was about 30 yards away from me and could not be controlled anymore.
Having read a lot more about rc helicopters and buying a more serious ... ...the Nikko:
--
The fact that it has only 3 channels for control makes it impossible to control.
You need at least 4 channels to succesfully hover a helicopter:
1 Throttle ( up/down )
2 Rotate tail
3 Forward / Backward ( elevators )
4 Roll left / right ( ailerons )
For a few dollars more it is possible to buy a beginners helicopter that can be controlled instead of this toy.
I made a choice to buy a Walkera HM004 as a beginners helicopter. ...

Micro fun in the form of a heli, get it!
Advantages: Fun, cheap, easy to fly, parts availability Disadvantages: Battery life
The PicooZ weighs only 10 grams, about the same as a packet of crisps! But don't buy the crisps, instead buy this tank err heli and have some fun..
At six inches long and fitting comfortably in the palm of your hand, the PicooZ incorporates a stable system of flight to ensure a 'straight out of the box experience'. Supremely responsive, you control it via an innovative, two-channel, proportional wide-beam infra red system. This effectively works ... ...the eyes of loved ones--a risk with more traditional telescopic aerials!
PicooZ has 2 powerful micro motors, which are powered by a built in Lithium Polymer flight battery and enable flights of 6-8 minutes. Recharge takes less than half an hour with the portable charger provided. The PicooZ also has a strobe LED (blue) for those night manoeuvres, while the auto stability system makes for a speedy pilot's license. Made of expanded polypropylene foam, ...

Esky Belt-Cp, a great way to start in the CP line of helis
Advantages: Great Price, Full capable 3D, cheap to fix Disadvantages: loose screws, bad blades - easily fixed
...you need to fly the Esky Belt CP.
Electric RC Helicopters rate as the fastest growing sector of the radio control hobby world in recent years, and Align's T-REX helicopter line dominates the high-end portion of this niche market. Now, one of Align's main rivals, E-Sky, launches a 2nd generation model whose parts are mostly compatible with those of the T-REX, the Belt-CP. First and most notable point of this model of this model is the fact that, ... ...Belt CP is not a beginners heli, this heli will do full 3D, if you are just learning get the Esky Honeybee V2, it's fantastic and built like a tank on steroids, virtually indestructible and if you do break it, very cheap to fix. I alos have 3 of these!! ...

This helicopter doesn't fly properly for very long
Advantages: Cheap, good and stable when it works Disadvantages: Doesn't last long, becomes very unstable
Not quite sure which version this one is meant to be. Mine is V2, without the round circular piece of plastic around the blades, and a plug-in charger. These are fun for a while, but something seems to go wrong with them. The first one I had probably got crashed a few too many times while I was learning how to handle it. But I bought another one (about £20) as I could fly it without crashing much. But that one didn't last very long at all. It was ... ...of trim to stop it whirling in circles. You have to press the trim button about a hundred times to stop it - so I end up wasting most of the flight time trying to get it stable - by which time the battery has run down and it begins getting unstable due to that! The first one lasted way longer than the second one. So maybe there's just good and bad ones. But I'm not going to waste any more money on these. I'll get a better quality one for a bit more ...

I Smell A Rat
Advantages: Good range of movement Disadvantages: Poor play time between charges
Every time we went into Hawkins Bazaar I saw the Natural History Museum branded radio controlled flipping rat and was dying to buy it for my cat to play with but was put off by the price tag of £19.99. A few weeks ago the rat was reduced to just £4.99 in the sale and being a complete sucker for a bargain I could not resist taking it home. When I told my daughter and nephew (aged 12 and 11) what I had bought they were massively excited and could not ... ...The toy comes in two parts. The first part is a lifesized black rat with a long black tail and little black whiskers. I was expecting him to be furry from the picture on the box but his body is made of hard plastic with moulded fur and his eyes, ears, and toes painted on. It does look fairly realistic, especially from a distance, certainly realistic enough to fool my kitty but then he is not known for his massive brain power. Underneath his body ...
