    ~~~Read all about it!~~~The Radio Times is really the only magazine I read from cover to cover every week. When you consider that I only watch the television for a couple of hours maximum a week, it seems a bit odd. It does say a lot for the way the magazine is put together though. It is called the Radio Times because when it was originally published there was no TV. It now covers both comprehensively. Apparently at it's inception in 1923 it cost 2p and refused to cover tv listing as the tvwas seen as a serious competitor to radio.I find it a very interesting read. There is always at least one ... more
    Advantages Advantages Very useful info. on all the shows. Clear and consise listings including all the neccesary information
    Disadvantages Disadvantages It's pricey at 85p and can be swamped with adverts.
    I haven't been very inspired in the last week or so to write anything on our lovely site Ciao. That's due, in the main part, to my astonishing laziness. I have, however, been reading a fair bit so that must make up for my lack of writings a bit. Anyway that has got nothing to do with the Radio Times so I'll stop my odd mumblings right there. In my opinion anything that lives to the age of 80 years has got to have a little something going for it. The Radio Times is no exception to this belief of mine, in fact it proves this point perfectly with it's all round excellence. So then what is this ... more
    Advantages Advantages Interesting articles, extensive tv guide
    Disadvantages Disadvantages a little bit pricey
    I have always been a What’s on TV girl ever since I picked up a copy at my nanas to read. It has got all you need to know about the weeks TV and a big section on the soaps and another plus point the price. It isn’t the cheapest but by far not the most expensive. So what made me have a change to the radio times, Christmas! Last Christmas I decided to try something different I no longer watch all the soaps I had become fed up of them all and prefer to watch something a bit different like documentaries and different dramas. I felt What’s on TV had too bigger section on soaps and I wanted ... more
    Advantages Advantages Some great features
    Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite dull
    Hands up all those for whom the following sounds familiar. Think of a weekly magazine which you know quite well, but don't buy all year, apart from a special two weekly edition that comes out over the Christmas period. Yeah, I know it's obvious what it is because you can tell that from where this opinion is posted but you have to forgive me for trying to inject a sense of suspense to the process. This is the magical world of the Internet and we're allowed to go for the occasional suspension of disbelief. Yeah, of course it's the Radio Times (odd title that) and I just wonder how many people do ... more
    Advantages Advantages Comprehensive listings on TV, Sky and Radio, Great film reviews
    Disadvantages Disadvantages None really, but it isn't the best magazine ever
    The Radio Times is published every week, and contradicting the title, actually has all TV listings including most Sky channels. It is always reliable for telling you the time of programs, except when there are last minute changes, which it can hardly help, because it is released on the Tuesday before the new week begins on Saturday. It also informs when programs might be delayed, such as after some live sport. Above all, it provides helpful information about the content of all programs that are on every day, showing cast lists and a brief review of the program. There are two double pages for ... more
