This is my second review of Radox products, which I have centred on stress and fatigue I hate arriving home in the evening from work so tired that I just want to crawl into my bed and sleep but working full time leaves you very little time to run the household, as many wives and mothers will agree and anything that will ease the aches of a hard day are most welcome. Stressful is an understatement. I arrived home from work with a tension headache the other evening, by 8pm it had not eased so ran myself a bath using Sleep Easy. All warm and clean I settled down for a nap in hope to cure my aching head and slept…and slept…and slept… a good 12 hours.
Today, stress accounts for a vast majority of complaints and emotional strain leading to headaches, tiredness, panic attacks, stomach ulcers and heart problems. Yet one of the ideal ways to combat stress and unwind after a taxing and demanding day is to soak in a hot bath of fragrant herbs and oils. Not only does it help change your mood but it will revive your senses and reduce that built up stress.
One of the things I enjoy most is bathing. A long hot, cleansing soak with a good book is an Ideal and most relaxing way to end my day helps me to either energise me or relax me. Not only do my aches and strains just seem to vanish I feel refreshed and really clean. My favourite bath product for many years has been Radox although there are a couple of others I like to use too.
Water is a natural detoxifier and purifier. It can relieve mental fatigue, reduce stress, and help you to sleep. Your bathroom is the ultimate place to unwind and recuperate, your own private sanctuary where your can transform your body and mind and rejuvenate a warm bath at night is extremely effective for stress relief, physical and mental relaxation. But blend these effects with fragrance and you cannot fail to combat and conquer your emotions and mind.
For many years the Radox name has been associated with herbal baths, I recall as a child TV adverts for Radox Bath Salts and then along came the infusions beginning with the Original Juniper enhanced scent to Stress Relief with rosemary renowned to relieve tension and restlessness. Radox declare ‘Proven-to-Relax Radox contains calming essential oils combined with the Radox secret blend of herbs and minerals, for your best ever relaxing Radox bathe experience.’
Does Radox really help change the way you feel? Yes I believe so.
Inhaling a fragrance, can enhance relaxation as your olfactory senses are closely associated to you emotions compared to other senses. Fragrance travels to the brain's "pleasure centre" and chemicals are triggered that bring about a mental adjustment drawing out a mixture of feelings and emotions such relaxation, satisfaction, happiness and contentment. Many people would agree with me when I say fragrance and aroma also prompt memories and imagination. No doubt the smell of fresh bread or apple pie with cinnamon elicits memories of home and the smell of pine reminds you of forests and mountains. A certain perfume or aftershave reminds you of a certain person or a fragrance reminds you of a place you have visited where you can knowingly remember smelling a fragrance for the first time.
Earlier this week my mother and I had visited Boots as I had accumulated around £20 of advantage points and had decided to put them to good use. Walking through the doors we saw a display for Radox, now both my Mother and I love this Herbal bath foam and were indeed chuffed to notice the current offer, two 500ml bottles for £2. That was £1 per bottle. A BARGAIN! I chose four, two of which were my favourites: Muscle Soak and Stress Relief.
Radox normally ranges in price depending which shop or supermarket you shop in from as little as £1.40 to as much as £1.99 unless there is a bargain in the offering. Boots and WIlkinson often range product with special discounts of two for one or three for two, that is usually when I I purchase Radox, and I buy in bulk. At Boots Radox is a point’s redeemable product so to indulge in my favourite bathing product I could pay for my purchases with my earned Advantage points.
***The Herbal Fragrances***
STRESS RELIEF: with rosemary renowned to relieve tension and restlessness.
Rosemary not only is a useful herb in cuisine but a very practical one in aromatherapy too when used as a stimulant, especially for circulation and memory, the ease of headaches and fatigue and used in massage oil it encourages the lymphatic system. Egyptians, favoured rosemary to stimulate memory and clarity of thought but the Greeks and Romans believed it symbolized love and death. During the plague it was burned in public places and worn around the neck in muslin bags for its antiseptic qualities in hole it would ward away the disease. The nursery rhyme ‘Ring a Ring of Roses’ came from the idea of these little bags.
The clear aqua blue colour liquid, has a rich, pungent, woody aroma, sharp and warming, medicinal, with a delicate hint of flora. This I think is one of my favourites, I use fresh and dried rosemary in cookery as it goes well with chicken but I prefer the fragrance in my bath. I find this stimulating and relief to many beginnings of tension headaches and like the Egyptians I find my memory is stimulated and thoughts clarified.
The standard plastic bottle has an aqua blue cap to match the colour of the liquid. The image on the bottle is of a blue skied, secluded mountain lake, peaceful, beautiful yet stimulating. Below the main image is a single rosemary stem with its spiky needle like leaves. The description text says ‘Stress Relief with rosemary renowned to relieve tension and restlessness.’
MUSCLE SOAK: with Clary Sage renowned for soothing aching muscles
Clary Sage was said to have been used in the Egyptian culture for infertility while Greeks and the Romans thought it to prolong life. It is known for its anti-depressant, sedative properties being ideal as a cure for insomnia it is also an excellent antiseptic, and deodorant although in some cultures considered it an aphrodisiac. Natural restorative properties and muscle relaxing compounds to relieve muscle spasms, backaches, and stiffness of the joints.
This bright blue foam bath has an earthy, herbaceous, fragrance with a subtle hint of fruit but a definite marine like property and a masculine scent. Masculine or not I like this fragrance; it’s definitely a favourite. Its herbal warming sooths my tired muscles and aching limbs but most especially ideal for menstrual cramps. Not only do I feel relaxed and clean I feel calmer.
The standard plastic bottle has a light blue cap to match the colour of the liquid. The image on the bottle is of a handful of large pebbles on the shoreline with lacy foamy water washing over them, a reminder of how restful the shoreline can be. Below the main image is a single stem of Clary Sage with two leaves with the text ‘Muscle Soak with Clary Sage renowned for soothing aching muscles’.
SLEEP EASY: with lavender helping to aid a restful nights sleep
Lavender is extraordinarily versatile its name comes from the Roman word "lavare" meaning to wash and was the most favoured aromatics used in their daily bathing rituals. Later cultures would burn lavender to ward of plague and disease, it was believed to be an excellent purifier and its essence was proved to be an excellent antiseptic. Lavender is superb for headaches and migraine, with mild sedative effects it is a just the thing to sooth nerves and tensions
A clear deep blue liquid with a strong, woody and floral scent with a hint of sweetness, slightly medicinal but freshening and clean yet relaxing I find a late night bath will combat the restlessness I feel and help me sleep but the lavender scented infusion really does help if you have a migraine of headache.
The standard plastic bottle has a deep blue cap to match the colour of the liquid. The image on the bottle is of a night sky, deep dark blue with twinkling stars and a quarter moon Below the main image is a single lavender stem with its tiny purple flowers with the text Sleep Easy with lavender helping to aid a restful nights sleep ’ next to it.
***How To Use***
Simply pour a generous amount under hot running water to help release the fragrance and to cleanse the skin. I feel deep down clean after a long soak in Radox and my skins is smooth, softer and fragranced and my body more relaxed.
***The Packaging***

I currently own three or four different types but have decided to base my review on the Stress Relief for now. So I decided to do my usual – a bit of digging to see what justifies ... ...combine them with the infamous Radox secret blend of herbs and minerals. Through scientific research, which was conducted by fragrance experts and psychologists under controlled conditions, it has been proven that certain fragrances can promote a variety of specific feelings and emotions, just like those Radox claims to be able to.

Advantages: Nice Smell, Relaxing, Soothing. Disadvantages: A little too relaxing, maybe!
...other day I came across Radox Stress Relief, and decided to give it a go. I’ve used Radox on many other occasions, and although it’s helped with muscle pains I still wasn’t completely satisfied, and was sure there was something else out there to soothe those aches and pains. Straight away when I saw “stress relief” on the bottle, I decided this was the one to try, and I picked it up to see if I was right.
I’m ... ...glad to see that Radox gave off very little bubbles, and tended to give off more of a lovely warm scent, and only a few bubbles. Mostly, though, the liquid combined with the water instead of giving off those annoying bubbles! The scent of it was extremely over-powering, but in a very good way. The scent was extremely relaxing and soothing, and even the smell seemed to be a bit of a stress relief! Even before I’d climbed into the bath it was ...

In this stressful world we live in what could be nicer at the end of the day than a long hot, relaxing bath, a long hot relaxing Radoxbath!
I have been a fan of the Radox products for a long time as my mum used to use them when I was little to probably get rid of the stress I caused her! She used to use the powder form but I am a big fan of the liquid form as I think it foams and bubbles up better.
I buy the bottles of RadoxHerbalBath Relax but I like the fact that they do a range of different products to suit the needs of everybody differently. For example they also have a stressrelief formula, a sleep easy formula and a muscle soak formula to name but a few. A 1 litre bottle cost £2.39 at Sainsburys and a 500ml bottle cost £1.58. In my opinion both are quite a bargain and not too expensive. I find a 1 litre bottle will ...
