RaidSonic ICY BOX - expand your storage

Advantages: Fast speed, great looks
Disadvantages: Slighty noisy operation on startup

22 cm (l) x 3.7 cm (d). The power supply is provided by a removal cable that connects at the rear of the enclosure and supports a 230V UK 3 pin plug. Performance provided by the USB 2.0 cable is very fast with the hard drive performing upto disc speed. One disadvantage I would say is the slightly noisy operation when the disk is initially turned on with my ICY BOX though this may be due to the age of the hard disc I have installed, though operation is quiet thereafter. Overall the ICY BOX is a great product that fits well onto a desk providing much needed disk space in this information age. The ICY BOX is available at a wide range of online retailers with price starting at around £17 excluding delivery, which often adds an extra £5 which is worth noting. ...

Review of RaidSonic ICY BOX IB-351UE

Wish your hard drive could become an external hard drive? ICY BOX

Advantages: Easy to use, install and transfer data.
Disadvantages: Don't take all the screws out at once otherwise it falls apart.

without them. There was also a little plastic packet which contained the smaller screws to attach the harddrive to the case which also contained some black sticky cushions to go on the external screws, so they don't mark your computer if you rest it on the top, or alternatively you can you the plastic stand that comes in the box. After having the ICY BOX running for some time it does get quite warm, but there is a mesh side to the case to allow circulation of air. Information on the box and in the manual - - Windows and Mac compatable. (98/me/2000/xp, os 9.1) (I have vista and it works fine, I also see it having no problem with windows 7) - Low noise fanless design (I agree) - Can be vertical or horiontal - Hot Plug and Play and Hot Swappable - Transfer rates: USB 2.0 - 480Mbits/s, Firewire400 - 400Mbits/s, SATA - 3Gbits/s - Power ...
