Also with extra tracks and cars but this is not enought to save the game from the shoody conversion. Screen borders and ever present drop in frame rate as you approach corners mean this game will only be a dissapointment to those who have played the superior arcade version. The saturn version of sega rally was in all fairness closer to its arcade counterpart and on a system that is in a hardware wise fare more removed form the respective arcade board. This game could have achieved so much but hasty conversion in the rush to release it on schedule with the dreamcast has negativly impacted on the games quality.
Advantages: Looks good, 10-year championship mode, decent 2-player mode, 12 Dreamcast exclusive tracks Disadvantages: Difficulty between years is unbalanced, fog and draw-in, may not appeal to everyone, uninspiring music
Many people believe that Sega’s Rally series is the best rally racing you can find on any system. Heck it’s been on the Saturn, in the arcades, and even on the PC. Now Sega has released Sega Rally 2 (SR2) on its new next-generation system and the result has been a good one. Can Sega’s lack of online capabilities and new modes make Sega Rally 2 worth purchasing? Gameplay: 8.5/10

Sega Rally 2 proves that Sega can produce some great arcade ports or should I say PC ports (cause that’s what Sega Rally 2 is). The graphics are great, the control is tight, the gameplay rocks, and the sound is decent enough to the point where you don’t have to hit the mute button on your television. Remember rally games might not appeal to everyone but trust me this one surely deserves your attention if you ...

...racing fans can't miss Sega Rally 2. All seventeen tracks are full of variety and feature six graphical themes. Starting with 8 name-brand cars, you earn eleven more as you race. You can make modifications to transmission, steering, tire types, and more. Play modes include an arcade mode, a time attack mode, and a unique 10 year championship mode. Rally 2 has a few graphical problems. But overall you'll see a great looking, well-presented game full ... ...The only major problem is multiplayer gaming. The US version of Sega Rally 2 lacks an online racing option, and the 2-player split screen mode that is available is fraught with graphical problems. But the one player game succeeds brilliantly. A must buy title for fans of arcade-style racing. ...

This game is very good, i enjoyed playing it and it took a long time to finish. The graphics are very good and all the tracks are rendered in real time 3D. This is a game that has been converted from the arcade and is almost identical in every way except that it has extras. It has extra tracks and cars and diffrent options that give the game a better life span such as the 10 year mode. Sega have don it again with another excelent piece of gaming. ...

...that never stopped playing sega rally on saturn so when the sequel came around i was totally psyched and bought it at launch day (in eur.).
And i was not dissapointed, this game rocks so much it's unbelievable. You have the standard arcade mode (drive on four courses), vs battle, time attack, and the meat of the game the 10 year championship, choose a car and drive on four courses, the time of the day and weather varies and adds some extra elements ...

Advantages: Lots Of Levels And Great Graphics Disadvantages: Costs A Lot Of Money
I have purchased Sega Rally 2 for the dreamcast, and I find it much better than the original, as it has more than three levels, and each are very different, aswell as this, the game takes very long to complete, which I see as a plus, the tournament consists of 10 years, each year a different tournament begins, and the second year would be harder to complete than the first year, all that is needed to complete 1 year is to finish the end race within ...

Advantages: Graphics, Track editor Disadvantages: How long have you got? Sound, physics, co driver
It takes a special kind of game that p**ses me off so much, it makes me want to kill. It has to be flawed, frustrating, disappointing and impossible, with little to no sign of me finishing the b**ch before I've finished all my other quality titles (Daytona USA, Sega GT, MSR etc etc). Yet at the same time it has to be cocky enough for me to say 'I'm going to finish this damn game, no matter what it takes'. That 'special game' has to be either Ridge Racer Revolution on the PSX (I got it clocked, finally, after much swearing and pad smashing) or V-Rally2 on the Dreamcast.
Now, I had VR2 on my PSX. It was meant to be a filler between 'Colin McRae 1' and 'Colin McRae 2', and it (reluctantly) did that. But only just. The only satisfaction I got was when I earned the Renault rally car, and using a cheat to see the final movie. And I hate ...
Advantages: Good graphics Disadvantages: Poor gameplay
This game is a real dissapointment, after the diabolical Sega Rally I was looking forward to this conversion of the playstation hit. While the graphics are good and fast (sometimes too fast) the gameplay is awful. The tracks are so narrow that it is impossible not to keep hitting the sides sending your car into the air ending up on your roof. You would think that crashing four or five times would not help you win a rally, but crashing has no effect your car is placed back on the track and your away in less than a second. This game should have been play tested a lot more. I recommend to all Dreamcast owners wanting a rally game, dont buy V Rally2 wait for Colin Mcrae 2 which is released in October. ...
V-Rally2 for Dreamcast is an entirely different version to that of the Playstation and yet the game shares the same name - why? Well that doesn't matter because the Dreamcast version is much better than the PS one. the graphics you'll notice are absolutely STUNNING and the controls are responsive and easy to learn. Pluas there's the edition of a 4 player game which has no slow down at all and is great fun to play.
There's loads of cars and tracks - you can even create your own tracks in the game! But the only complaint I have is that it's so easy to flip over and lose time in a race - hit a pebble and your car does a triple somersault -crazy stuff.
But V-Rally2 is classy and brilliant fun - much more so than sega rally2. 8.5/10 ...
