Personally, I picked up my bottle of Polo from Bodycare for £19.99. Bargin! ... ...thin and has a large Ralph Lauren logo on the front in gold.

Oh yes, the Badger does indeed stink. He smells of the sweet smell of Polo by Ralph Lauren and today, I’ll be giving my worldly-wise opinion on it.
Having already reviewed the Polo Sport I thought today would be an appropriate time to review the earlier aftershave as Christmas is coming and I’m sure a few members out there still need a few idea’s of what to buy that special someone in their lives.
Personally, I picked up my bottle of Polo from Bodycare for £19.99. Bargin! Polo can be purchased from Ralph Lauren stores (very expensive) Boots and from the House of Fraser.
The packaging to Polo is styled in a very minimalist way and is a very pale green with a darker green stripe across the front. POLO is written in white letters across the front. Although very basic, it looks damn good sat on the counter and even better in the bathroom. On opening the packaging you are greeted with the usual notes and the actual bottle, emerald in colour with a gold metallic screw top.
The bottle is wide but very thin and has a large Ralph Lauren logo on the front in gold.
The actual notes to Polo state that this aftershave has been created to celebrate the tradition of the sporting lifestyle, blended with notes of wood, leather and tobacco to create a lasting, subtle smell that will have an enduring appeal.
Well, the bit you’ve been waiting for! What’s it like?
After shaving I took the glass bottle in hand and then proceeded to struggle with the lid, as my hands were still wet. I dried my hands and had another go. On removing the lid I was presented with a mixed aroma that was heavy, woody and very overpowering. There was a distinct leather smell, which didn’t do much for me at the time!
As the smell was noticeable when just removing the lid I only applied a tiny amount of the aftershave. As soon as it had hit my skin the smell changed quite dramatically. The overpowering heavy smell disappeared and softer woody tones could be smelt. The revolting smell of leather became more and more subdued the longer I wore the aftershave.
Unlike the Polo Sport, Polo does not have a sweet citrus smell and that’s the only reason I do not wear this fragrance when I go out in the evenings. It is similar in nature and in some ways smell to Fahrenheit. It will get you noticed in the street, but in a club or bar, this isn’t the aftershave that will have the ladies flocking to sniff your neck! Don’t get me wrong, this aftershave has a distinctive, lovely smell, but it is more for daytime wear and meals with the “in-laws” in my opinion. Not a "pulling" fragrance and for this the aftershave is going to lose a star!
Would I buy it again?
Yes and I would recommend this aftershave to all who require it. It isn’t too expensive, it has a large bottle, it’s long lasting and the smell is still evident after 10 hours.
My only gripe about Polo is the actual design of the bottle. It does look amazing, but it is a bitch to keep hold of if your hands are wet and I frequently find myself dropping it!

I have already written about Drakkar Noir and as mentioned, it used to be one of my favourites. As I also mentioned that I had almost finished half of the bottle at the time of writing that opinion. Well the bottle promptly finished one week later and I decided to try out another ... ...de toilette by Ralph Lauren and thus the inspiration for this opinion.

The appearance is quite appealing. The bottle is a "bottle green" colour and rectangular in shape. The edges are subtly rounded to provided a very elegant looking bottle. The round, knob like, gold top add's to elegancy.

On arriving at our hotel room, we decided to go out to a nightclub. I delved into my bag to get my new Ralph Lauren Polo aftershave. I removed the bottle from the box and gave it a good squirt on my neck. I expected a sweet smelling aroma to fill my nostrils, but instead I was repulsed by a smell I can only associate with an ashtray. My girlfriend agreed that this aftershave was not up ... ...I paid £27.00 for a 118ml bottle at duty-free price. Ralph Lauren Polo retails for around £37.00 in high street stores. Frankly I wouldn’t pay half of the asking price. If you are young I would purchase Ralph Lauren Polo Sport and avoid this at all costs. ...

Advantages: i like the pump Disadvantages: too strong
Polo is one of those fragrances that will always be on the shelves. With its high-powered pump spray you get a big splash that is guaranteed to wake you up (honestly it always makes me sneeze).
It has a very strong scent and very long lasting, personally I prefer to use it as an air freshener then to actually wearing it. This definitely is a Fathers day present, but please keep in mind it is a very well made fragrance and people who like the strong ...

My wife bought me a bottle of Polo aftershave and I immediately tried it on. The fragrance was very deep and spicey with fruit undertones. I didn't need to put much on because it was very strong. After 15 minutes it settled down and I really liked the wafting aromas as I walked about.
It comes in a lovely bottle green design with a polo player logo printed on the side. I would recommend this aftershave as it does last as good as it smells and that ...

I've got so many bottles of after-shaves and colognes sitting around gathering dust, that I sometimes think I could nip down to Downing Street and mask the bad smell that emanates from there on a daily basis...nah, now that I think about it, no-one's got that much!
Still, it's hardly surprising that I'm gifted the stuff on an all too regular basis, I've always been clean-shaven...ish. My son (the dang hippy), on the other hand, cultivates the Robinson Crusoe look. So why people would shower him in after-shave (not literally) is anyone's guess. I always find it difficult to rate perfumes because different scents are created for and liked by different people. I tend to not like the musky, heavy scents and pretty much am the market target when it comes to light sporty scents introduced by the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas and RalphLauren. Polo Sport for Women is very similar to Tommy Hilfiger Girl but it is a fresher and more wearable scent.
I generally do not use perfume except for special occasions, but this scent is light enough that it is not out of place to be smelled wearing it with just a t-shirt and jeans. (I otherwise generally tend to think of perfume as a formal accessory). It can be described as sporty fresh I suppose. It is similar to woman type sport deodorants but of course the lasting power and initial strength of the scent is much stronger ...
