...If we are to think of iconic… erm… icons in American culture, one of the most predominant is John F. Kennedy, President from 1961 to 1963. The man who led America's 'New Frontier', opened up a new age for America, was committed to ending the war in Vietnam but was tragically shot down before he could implement it, right? Well, it would appear that this presumptuous view would be rather… wrong. In 'Rethinking Camelot' Noam Chomsky dispels the popular notions which still persist that Kennedy was like a knight or Arthurian legend, indeed, he is Arthur, noble King of the Realm, the shining hero of modern America. Sadly these images, which perpetuate right through to the modern day are completely false and lacking in any kind of historical substance, as Chomsky forcefully points out.

Disadvantages: If any, the only disappontment I found about this book was, it just wasn't long enough.

...Some of you may be aware of my "slight" adoration of Jodie Foster. Only recently did I get round to reading one of the many biographies written about her. The simple reason I chose this one over the others is because I got it from the library and it was the only one they have. However, having read this one, it’s started me off so I do now intend to read the others bit by bit. But for now, it’s all about Philippa Kennedy’s version of Jodie’s life and I thought the best way to tackle it was to take it a chapter at a time so here goes:
