When I moved into my new house (a new build on a new development) the kitchen came with the impressive kitchen beast that I like to call the Rangemaster 90 (when I say came free I mean didn't have to pay extra on top of the extortionist price we had to pay for the house).
Anyway, I was very impressed by this little fact and that almost sold the house to me then and there, but not quite. If you have to buy them I believe they are in the region of £1,500 but in my opinion well, well worth it if you can afford it.
Anyway, I can tell you, I am the envy of all my friends now whenever they come over as after 2 years they still mention the oven as the first thing they do when they walk in the kitchen.
According to a recent range cooker survey carried about by Which ? magazine, they voted it best buy August 2007 and for the Toledo 110 they said that the temperature was extremely accurate and that the griddle produces great results.
The Rangemaster 90 has two gas ovens. The lower one on the left hand side has a tray that fits on the door and also two other trays inside. The side oven is thinner but has 4 shelves inside with 9 different slats that you can put the trays on. Each oven has its own temperature knob so you can cook two things at once at different temperatures which is fantastic. Used in conjunction with the timer this proves an invaluable tool if you are out but want to start the oven before you get him. The lower oven has a light inside it and a clear fronted door to allow you to see your food cooking and make sure it is done.
There are 5 gas burning hobs, one which is double the size of the others. The oven comes with a grill plate that you put over this large hob in order to cook burgers on etc. The hobs are very easy to clean as they all come apart and you can then wash them in the sink.
There is also a grill at the top of the oven that allows you to do toast, bacon etc. The oven comes with a tray and a handle attached for use in the grill.
The oven has a glass cover which once put down cuts off all the gas immediately so it is a very good safety feature. When the cover is shut it also allows you to put things on top of the oven. When up it is a good back splasher for grease and is very easy to clean.
I have found this a very powerful cooker, everything cooks to the time said on the packet and in my opinion its best feature is how it looks in your kitchen, very cool and sleek.
