    Advantages Advantages Comprehensive biography of a master

    Tom Hiney is an unusual choice to produce a biography of one of the great novelists of the last century. He was only 27 when he published this account of Chandler's remarkable life and talent and at times his youth shows through. He is a biographer in awe of his subject forgiving the unpleasant decline of a dipsomaniac and crowing about the undoubted talent even when it was less than fulfilled. Chandler himself was never less than fascinating.
