Do you REALLY need to travel at Mach 3?
Advantages: Cheap. Simple. Effective. Disadvantages: None
...blades).
For me, the Boots Twin Blade razor is one of the best. It seems to me to be based closely on the old Gillette Contour, as the blades are identical and the design is similar. The Gillette is an equally good razor, but I prefer Boots' handle and their razor and blades are marginally cheaper.
It has a generous lubricant strip, gives a reasonably close shave and the blades are cheap at around £2.50 for 10. Its handle is of a simple rubber ... ...secure in your hand.
The prongs which hold the blade - there must be a technical term for these, but I've no idea what it is, so "prongs" will do, are made of steel. This is a big advantage for me, as these are the most unreliable part of a razor, in my opinion. They allow the cartridge to swivel over a large angle.
It doesn't have microgrooves to raise your hairs before cutting, three blades or a ridiculously overstyled handle. It doesn't come ...

And the search goes on
Advantages: It was cheap Disadvantages: It is useless
...went out to my local Boots and stupid me was conned by their lovely purple-blue imitation of the Venus. It still had those sucker pads to stick it to the wall, it looked the same, it was on special offer so was extra cheap compared to the Venus, and Boots are usually trustworthy. Right?
WRONG!!
I am not an especially hirsute person - even with being pregnant which does funny things to hair growth (all you childless women, I have been assured it ... ...this razor for the first time I found the blades were not especially sharp - nor was the fetching blue lubre-strip particularly moisturising. It did the job (eventually), so I thought ok - we'll persevere with this and see how it goes.
Now ladies, I am a winter lazy person, and therefore if it's not going to be seen it doesn't need to be blitzed, plus reaching much of my lower legs is now a huge chore in the bath, so these blades are not exactly ...

Smooth!!
Advantages: gives a close shave and are cheap. Disadvantages: none
...poor student.
I went to boots and noticed that they had a pack of their own brand razors which were nice and cheap. I was a bit sceptical of using them as they were cheap but i was greatly surprised as they gave me a very close shave and because it has a lubricated stripe they glide smoothly over your legs.
These razors cost just over 1pound for a pack of five and each razor lasts a while so you can use each one more than once.
I would recommend ...

Not Raving about this Razor
Advantages: Good for one off use Disadvantages: Doesn't do as promised, refills unavailable, Not worth the cost
Advantages: Good for one off use

This razor isn't all it's cracked up to be.It claims that you don't need to use separate shaving foams or moisturisers after using it.This unfortunately wasn't my experience. The razor comes with a block of creamy soap surrounding the actual blade, this block of soap is supposed to moisturise the skin because of the ingredients in it ,in ... ...and honey. Unless you are just shaving under your arms i wouldn't really recommend you use this razor. The block of soap may provide some lather but nothing near the amount you need to get a comfortably close shave, and if your hairs are longer than a couple of millimeters long the soap block prevents you from being able to clear the blades effectively, and then there's the Yukkie part when you get shaved hairs in the soap. On the positive side the ...

Hedge Trimming Quattro Stylee
Advantages: Very effective bikini line trimmer, and close shaving performance Disadvantages: Expensive, and less than effective shower hanger. Stupid operating instructions
...finally been converted to the Wilkinson Sword Quattro for Women Bikini razor. All razors are not created alike. The Quattro is a non-disposal razor – the type you buy heads for, rather than chucking the whole thing away. It has four blades (I am forced to wonder when a 10 bladed razor will be available – how many blades does one gal need, I ask you?!) and a couple of strips, one above the blades and one below, which apparently contain ‘aloe & duo—vitamine ... ...a gal to do? Wilkinson Sword have therefore kindly provided an electric trimmer – similar to a wee little beard trimmer (which seems appropriate somehow). This allows one to shorten without removing pubic hair. There is a removable cover on the trimmer, so that you can go for really quite short (a number one?) if you remove the cover, or somewhat less so if you leave it on (my preferred option). I am a fan of the Quattro. The razor end is fairly ...
