arcade elements to create one of the better racing games. The control pad is a little touchy, so it is probably a better idea to steer with the digital pad. The cars react to the tracks just like their real-life remote control counterparts do: flipping off curbs, absorbing suspension-jarring jumps, and bouncing off competing cars. The tracks are also realistic, letting players race through grocery stores, museums, neighbourhoods and the like. Acclaim even threw in a track editor so intrepid racers can design their own courses.Don't think that you can outrace the competition by simply droning around the track. Winning requires a combination of driving skill and a mastery of the game's myriad weapons, including oil slicks, bombs, bottle rockets and water balloons. The weapon effects do much to enhance the game's graphical appeal, which is immense to begin with.--T Byrl BakerPros:Realistic physicsSlick graphicsTrack editorCons:Controls are hard to get used to

The game involves basic races around some oversized normal world environments such as a back garden, museum and supermarket. There are obstacles in each place that are representative of the area they are in, such as a wet floor in the supermarket and there are plenty of other racers to try to beat as you tear around the track.
The basic race option is fun and well put together, handling is spot on and makes you feel that you're controlling a radio controlled car rather than a real one. The courses are well thought out and great to drive around. But it's the two to four player battle mode that's the most impressive. Similar to Mario Kart on the Nintendo 64, this mode is a game of 'tag' where one car carries the tag and all the others have to race around to try and touch it so they can become the winner before the time runs out. Great fun when there are four of you all frantically after one another!
The graphics work well for a game based on small cars and everything looks pretty authentic, although it won't win any prizes. The sound is basic, with background tunes and spot effects, but nothing outstanding.
Overall, it's the general sense of fun you get from playing a different type of racing game with toy cars instead of real ones that wins the day for this game, and the battle mode will keep you coming back for more multiplayer mayhem long after you've unlocked all the tracks on the racing section.
Advantages: cheap game, lots of options, good graphics, good features Disadvantages: not easy to control cars
REVOLT is a great game and is for kids and adults. It costs only around £10 and offers a lot of features.
A company named Toy-Volt produces it. It is quite well known in the field of toys making and quickly became the favourite of kids. The cars are radio controlled (R/C cars) and are not easy to control. They seem to have their own way of running and their own mind. The tracks are varied and you can simply battle through a neighbourhood or take ... ...fly on rooftops. But that is not all. Each car has different functions: speeds, weights, acceleration, and transmissions. There are two types of vehicles to choose from: Electric glass meaning they are powered by batteries and Glow glass, a more advanced system powered by gas engines. You could choose a fast, light, rear wheel drive or a heavy four-wheel drive car. It is entirely up to you and your ability to manage the driving. The best is to try ...

when i first played this game i thought to myself "this plays well and is quite easy, but how long is it going to last?" to my surprise it has so far lasted me 3 months( i thought it would only be a month before it started to gather dust on the shelf) i still enjoy playing but i have since found it difficult to complete the various races as i have progressed. overall i will have to say that this is a very underated game with good graphics and excellent ...

Advantages: Accurate physics Disadvantages: Can slow down in multiplayer
Re-Volt is simply the best game on the Dreamcast at this time. This game is a pleasure to play, be it with friends or alone. The physics are spot on and the car models look great with their four wheel independant suspension. There is more then enough gameplay to keep the lone gamer going for quite a long while. You will be pulling your hair out trying to unlock all those cars, but you will be having a blast too. The multi-player is just superb....get ... ...other racer on the Dreamcast! Re-Volt has gameplay coming out of the wazoo. The game is deep, fun and it grows on you. This game was meant for the DC...forget the other systems version of this game, they are a joke compared to this version. There is Championship mode, Single Race, Time Trial and you need to do all the modes to unlock the many, many, cars and to access all the tracks. You will be playing the single player game for months. The multi-player ...

Advantages: gameplay and graphics Disadvantages: sound quality
Re-Volt is a great multi-player game. I spent a couple of months playing it by myself and I experienced the single player difficulty people have complained about. It was definitely fun but I had a hard time clearing the tracks after a while. However, a friend of mine and I have discovered the joy of multi player battle tag. Gameplay: The controls are very realistic. You have to remember that you are driving an RC car. With that firmly in mind, you ...

"That's not like you Tom! Your not a games player", "Why??"
That was the first few responses I got when I got home from London with a big EB bag under my arm. What's even more suprising that it isn't a PlayStation 2 or new Mac, but a Sega Dreamcast. Many of you might know me from being the one taking the mick out of you for having a DC. I eat my words! I bought one yesterday. And boy is it a great machine. I play it more than our PS2 at the moment. That's because...
a) It's new.
b) It's got better games.
With it came Re-Volt and Chuchu Rocket!. The final deal was for £99.98, the DC, a keyboard, Revolt and Chu-Chu Rocket. Revolt is pretty much a shortened word for 'revolting'. It's a pretty poor game, but ChuChu Rocket is amazing. It's a really simple puzzle game, but is just crazy. The idea is that... see a forthcoming ...

AN ELECTRIFYING RACE.
There's no track here -- no flags, no spectators. Re-Volt takes the racing genre and
turns it upside-down by having you race at breakneck speed through crazy places
such as a supermarket, museum, garden, cruise ship, neighborhood, the Wild Wild
West, and Toy World. These 7 fun and wacky interactive environments are chock-full
of eye candy. Each of the 28 Re-Volt racers has a unique personality and a mind for
destruction. Two of the cars are brand new and 12 were made specifically for Sega
Dreamcast. New gameplay and feature improvements are based on consumer
feedback from the award ...

the shops for sale as they've all run out at pre order.
This means, with no competition for this very festive period, Sega could do very well to make their console THE 'must have' for all children and adults alike come December 25th. Personally, I think there will be a lot of unhappy Sony fans, because they cannot get a PS2, and so they will opt for Dreamcast. After all, it has a fantastic catalogue of games including many original and innovative titles such as the following (please note, the best of the genre are in Bold capitals):

Sega Rally 2,
