This game is good fun and quite easy for all the family to get involved. Choose from 18 cartoon boxers, all of which are impersinations of celebrities from the music, movie and sporting worlds. Characters include Brad Pitt (as he appeard in the yr 2000 film 'Snatch'), Jack Black in his school uniform, David Beckham with a fetching mohawk, John Travolta, Davit Hasselhof and many more!! The overall presentation of the game is quite solid and although the images are largely cartoony, the animation is good. There is a create the boxer mode so you can customize your look if you do not fancy being a celeb! Multiplayer offers a good laugh with a variety of sections. You can play a quick match, team match, or go the whole hog in a tournament. You can opt for the Arcade mode too offering simple gameplay and the opportunity to unlock boxers as you earn and spend the cash, also unlocking character customisations. Or in single player you could opt for the career championship that alternates week-day training mini games with weekend bouts, building up your fighters skills and status. So on to the moves! Here you are able to throw uppercut, hook and straight punches with either hand, to the face and body. You also have the ability to duck ,lean, block and throw counter-punches. In weekday training you will be shown these moves and as you'd expect they become more challenging. At times you will require to press buttons whilst carrying out two-directional movements. A couple of things i noticed with this game though! You dont actually have to physically throw a punch like in other boxing games. A simple jerk of the wii controller will enable your boxer to punch! So no real boxing motions are required, just simply waving and jerking the controllers! Some moves can be misunderstood. Meaning you're commands could fail or act out a totally different move! The pace of interpretation is also rather slow in comparison to other sporting games. As if the game needs time to register you're movement. These 3 points really bring down the rating of the game. Overall its a game that is simple to play and simple in style, lacking any real greatness in comparison to other games of its genre. Unless its in a bargain bin i personally would not bother. Its good for a quick laugh but the 3 points above really affect gameplay! A mere 5 out of 10 for trying!
