Who wants to live in the real world anyway?

Advantages: great summer read
Disadvantages: none

We have just had a few days away so I wanted to take with me a book that was light, easy to read and not too taxing on the brain! Of course it needed to be very entertaining and a thoroughly good read as well. I had read other books by Carole Matthews in the past so I suspected that her latest offering - 'Welcome to the Real World' - would tick all my holiday reading boxes and I was not disappointed! 'Welcome to the Real World' tells the story of frustrated wanabee Fern Kendal, a pub singer with a very complicated family to boot. At the start of the book, she is serving drinks and singing in the same pub whilst trying to support her brother Joe look after his asthmatic son. Welcome to the Real World

Advantages: A really good read
Disadvantages: Addictive, can't put it down to do anything else!

the world's worst assistant! She forgets to tell Evan David about important appointments, she leaves early so she can go to her other job or to sort her family out, and she also goes to auditions for a singing competition 'Fame Game' while she should be at work. Fern has aspirations to be a singer but she hasn't told Evan David this for fear of making a fool of herself. She knows how talented Evan David is and feel quite inadequate in comparison. Fern gets through the audition of the Fame Game but is told to drop Carl from the act if she wants to go further. Fern's family are also a full time job to her! As wel as Joe and Nathan, whom she adores, she has parents who have just separated. In order to win back her mum, Fern's Dad inherits 'tourettes syndrome'! Fern and Evan have a chemistry between them, much to the dismay of Carl, who ...

Mickey & Donald are Trapped In a World of Magic!

Advantages: Great gameplay and graphics.
Disadvantages: None really!

With this next review I will be continuing with the Megadrive games theme, this time with a review of World of Illusion: the sequel to my last game review, World of Illusion. *** World Of Illusion *** Following the success of Castle of Illusion Sega and Disney released a sequel a year later called World Of Illusion. Again as all Megadrive games did, the game came presented in a box that was in-between DVD and VHS Video Box size. The box contained an instruction manual and 16-Bit cartridge specifically for the Megadrive system. *** Gameplay *** World of Illusion features Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. The game is a platform game suitable for all ages and abilities; it is full of the usual great Disney graphics and lovely bright colours. Starting the game is simply a case of putting the cartridge in the Megadrive ...
