Very Very impressive Advantages: Sound quality, features, dab Disadvantages: Price ...the plunge an dbought the onkyo speakers with it. Its incredibly handsome. Bullet proof build quality and a nice display make this look th part. The remote is functional but kind of bland. It is incredibly easy to set up and has numerous amounts of inputs so it will just about connect to anyhting (connected to my computer as we speak). The sound quality is phenomenal. When my friends have parties they all borrow because it sounds amazing. Full ... ...speakers i could not beleive the amount of bass. The DAB is fantastic as well as having fm as back up. Numerous alarm features, timers and mute button on the remote show this is a well thought out product. Incredibly easy to use and intuitive. Now, whether to buy it. In the price range (£300 with speakers) there is alot of options especially the denon and yamaha. There is not much to tell them apart in my view. The one thing in this ones favour ... Pioneer SC-LX81 is a powerful feature packed A/V amp Advantages: Power, media streaming, iPod connection, auto-calibration Disadvantages: Slow using remote to navigate GUI, VERY basic GUI I was deciding between this and the sister LX71, after spending £1800 on speakers I didn't want to let the system down. The list of credits on this A/V amp was amazing; THX Ultra 2 Plus certification, auto-calibration, dlna audio/video streaming playback and 190W/channel from B&O ICEpower amps to mention but a few. After completing the connections the basic setup was 2 button clicks, with so much packed in harnessing full control of the features ... ...produces a balanced and effective sound stage considering the awkward position of my equipment. The power is staggering and could inconvenience the neighbours in other flats easily. I have large speakers on the front to replicate the bass in music and the amp drives these well. There are many sound formats for personal preference but Dolby Digital does well for me. The men best friend Advantages: performant, usefull Disadvantages: might take a wile till you realise how to use it if you are not used with performant things ...Man. But the Sony also injects an extra layer of realism and emotion to a film’s music score. The Yamaha DSP-AX763 and DSP-863SE boast marginally greater transparency and dynamics, but the classical score of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull still sounds great. The Sony times superbly, instruments sound natural, and it’s these intrinsic values that give it kudos in stereo mode, too. sony reciever Advantages: good sound quality Disadvantages: too many buttons on remote I don't normally buy Sony products as the price tag they put on things is rediculous, when i can go and buy the same product from a different brand at half the price. This Sony Product is different though, i have the Bose Acustimass 10s hooked up to this baby, normally Bose offers a good speaker performance no matter what amplifier it's hooked up too, as long as the treble and bass settings are set properly. This amplifier was different, the sound ... ...richer than any other amplifier i connected these speakers too, and it was a straight out of the box job, no fidiling with the treble and bass settings all day to try and find the perfect sound, it just sounded good as soon as i turned it on. Sound beyond belief with the YAMAHA RX-V457 Advantages: Perfect sound quality & just phenomenal all round Disadvantages: there are none It is really the best peice of equiptment in my house, i have it set up to the jamo's surround sound system, my 44" pioneer plasma and it interlinks with everything from my DVD player and my sky+. When this baby is increased to full volume for movies like pearl harbour you really cant be in the room, it sounds like there is a full blown war in my house, even from the outside. The sound does not get fuzzy as the volume increases the furniture just ... ...the minus 20 section, it is loud when the volume is at zero so you have to decrease it into the minus numbers. When I purchased this product a professional installed it and gave me a rundown of all its features so it was easy to understand and operate. The instruction manual is there for convenience however you wont be needing it.
