In Manali, this is the temple you shouldn't miss
Review of Vashishti Temple, Manali by koshkha

Advantages: Much more than we expected to find
Disadvantages: Can get rather crowded

What? ANOTHER Temple? The Vashista Temple in Manali was the last attraction we visited on a very intense day of tourism. We nearly told our driver, Mr Singh, to just take us back to the hotel because we’d already done so much but fortunately he didn’ ... Read review

Carry On Up the Khyber
Review of Khyber, Manali by koshkha

Advantages: After a week of curry, pizza is very welcome
Disadvantages: No real atmosphere as it was so empty

Working up an appetite Manali is a great place to spend a few days and on our last day before we moved on to the next destination, we indulged in a very full-on morning of sightseeing which involved a chance to really see the best and worst that the ... Read review

I'm certainly not going to throw abuse at you for choosing pizza but we DO eat three Indian meals a day for a week every year for National Curry Week - and love it! Enforced by others it might be a different matter though... by fizzytom

Comfortable and Cheap
Review of Sonalong Boutique Village & Resort, Siem Reap by dkm1981

Advantages: Cheap, good location, good facilities and service
Disadvantages: Looking tired and worn, it is a budget option

We stayed at the Sonalong Boutique Village in Siem Reap for a few days as a base for visiting the nearby temples of Angkor. The hotel was nice although not fantastic, but it was considerably cheaper than many of the alternatives in this city. Price an ... Read review

Review of Rabbit Resort, Pattaya Beach by dkm1981

Advantages: Excellent staff, lovely rooms, personal feel
Disadvantages: Nowhere to relax in the evening, not a great area, comparatively pricey

Rabbit Resort is a family owned beach front resort in Dongtan Beach in the town of Pattaya in Thailand. It is a wonderful resort with lots of great things about it, not least the cosy and genuinely happy vibe that the staff give off. We stayed there in Ja ... Read review

Advantages: Fantastic buildings, amazing surroundings, cheap entry
Disadvantages: There's a lot to see in just one day

Hiding from the Hoards
Review of Van Vihar National Park, Manali by koshkha

Advantages: A beautiful quiet space
Disadvantages: Not a lot to actually 'do'

Room to breathe Sometimes when you’re on holiday and visiting lots of different attractions, what you really want and need is a quite, peaceful place to sit and think and preferably not get pestered by lots of people. Our morning in Manali had been v ... Read review

A Quiet Moment in a Busy Day
Review of Himalaya Nyingmapa Temple, Manali by koshkha

Advantages: Inexpensive and quite interesting
Disadvantages: Buddhist temples need some explanation - but ideally not TOO much

A Busy Day Some holiday days are just packed full of things about which to write reviews and our day in the Himachal Pradesh town of Manali was such a day. Before noon we’d visited a major Hindu temple, strolled round a museum of local culture and vi ... Read review

Seriously Lame Tourist Attraction
Review of The Club House, Manali by koshkha

Advantages: We didn't have to stay very long
Disadvantages: It's a really rubbish attraction that you can easily skip.

Ponies, Views and Dead Gandhis
Review of The Ridge, Shimla by koshkha

Advantages: There's nowhere else in India quite like the Ridge
Disadvantages: It's a 15-20 minute attraction - don't plan half a day.

The Centre of the City Shimla is a funny sort of place and it's rather hard to put your finger on what you could really call the 'centre' of the city. Because the city clings precariously to the mountainside, it's not as if there's really a mid-point ... Read review
