plipplopfromdooyoo: I would probably more technically call this product a "toner" instead of a "dye", simply because it does not contain ammonia or peroxide which are the two chemicals that are in proper hair dyes, that fix the colour into the hair. Also the chemicals that may damage the hair if overused. Because this is just a wash in/out toner, it is less likely to do that. So my hair has been in great condition. Plus it lathers up, so it probably has a cleaning agent in there somewhere too Hope this helps :) by Allansemmy
