Disadvantages: 4 years instead of 3, grammar!!
French studies at Birmingham...I kind of stumbled into studying French; it was my last choice for A Level, I only did it because I'd gone off German at the end of GCSE and now here I am with a French Studies degree and 4 years of memories!

Review of East Mediterranean History by
Psycho.chick
Advantages: The Course gives you an indepth knowledge of the East Mediterranean from late Roman, through the Byzantine period right up to the modern day, you can even learn Greek as an ancillary subject to your degree
Disadvantages: It isn't applicable to many jobs, although travel companies love it!
East Mediterranean History (EMH) Was not the course I applied for at Birmingham University, however I don't regret taking it. The course is fascinating and is mostly essay assessed (so great for those of us who hate revision!) Lectures are few and far bet ...

Anyone who’s been to university will surely remember that seminal phrase from family and friends back home! Sure, you’re at university to have a good time, absorb the atmosphere, and generally to get a little ‘life experience’. But ...

Interesting course, plenty of field trips
Review of Geology by

An excellent course, I'm writing this halfway through my second year and am still enjoying myself immensly. Most of the lectures are interesting and engaging, with plenty of field trips covering the scope of geology.
The department has its own (albeit ...
