Review of Finding Audrey - Sophie Kinsella by frankiecesca

Advantages: Interesting and different perspective
Disadvantages: May not be for everyone with being a yound adult book

Another book for me and another favourite author of mine; this book is aimed at young adults, but this makes no difference to me as I will always try her books anyway. I finished another of my favourite authorís new books before this so made a start on th ... Read review

Intensely Good
Review of Jonny: My Autobiography - Jonny Wilkinson by Soho_Black

Advantages: A fascinating look at how obsessive a sportsman can be
Disadvantages: A couple of style issues, occasionally intense.

I donít tend to have a lot of luck with raffles. At a recent event, I was fortunate enough to win a cut and blow dry, although sadly the prize didnít include sufficient extra hair to allow me to fully enjoy it. I did have a little more luck the week bef ... Read review

Wild Blue, the "Dakota Queen" - not what you might think!
Review of Wild Blue - Stephen E. Ambrose by 2mennycds

Advantages: Engaging, gripping, empathetic, personal tale free from excessive derring-do
Disadvantages: None for me

The American and British Air Forces had very different approaches to bombing in the Second World War. To minimise losses, the RAF concentrated on night-time bombing. This was clearly a trade-off for a higher level of inaccuracy. By contrast, to maximis ... Read review

All time great cult fiction set in the Russian Metro in 2033
Review of Metro 2033 - Dmitry Glukhovsky by 2020reviews

Advantages: Great plot, very well portrayed characters
Disadvantages: Poorly written(again may be due to translation)

Metro 2033 Metro 2033 has, in my opinion, one of the best post apocalyptic, cult stories I've ever seen. The story starts with a man named Artyom (ar-tee-um) who is fated with saving what is the last of humanity, from what is supposedly the next stag ... Read review

Citizens vs Cons
Review of The Heart Goes Last - Margaret Atwood by beautybuff

Advantages: kept me guessing
Disadvantages: a little far fetched at times

Immortal in death - immortality in a power drink, hmmmm?
Review of Immortal in Death - J.D. Robb by KoolKat007

Advantages: Interesting read, futuristic murder mystery, believable Characters, excellent writing and plot
Disadvantages: None that I could think of. Otherwise, I would not add this book to my own Books to keep library.

Ma'am, Thanks for the helpful tip, but well, I write my reviews my way. Would you want all the reviews on Ciao to march to the same tune played by one persistent systematic monotonous drummer? I am writing my thoughts, my views , my ideas and wouldn't want to be influenced by what someone else wrote. Would you, if you are writing a review? Would you read a number of reviews which blast an item to the horizon but you thought was pretty good and effective? Would you not be influenced subconsciously thinking ummmm, possibly this kitchen gadget ain't so hot as touted. That is one's subconscious working. So I may write negative/ positive reviews about what I honestly feel about something, and I am sure anyone reading them may say, ummmm, well that's the truth... I am not writing book blurbs, to promote books. If I get tired of Judith McNaught having achingly written in every 2nd Para, I say so! Nevertheless, thanks again so much for the tip! by KoolKat007

One man's tale, one man's considerable impact
Review of Behind Enemy Lines - Sir Tommy MacPherson, Richard Bath by 2mennycds

Advantages: Fascinating, easy to read
Disadvantages: A little too much post-War material for me

(A little galling to propose this product and have a "Lifted" review bag the "First review" - but there you go!!) This book tells a gripping story, and its fascination derives from several factors. Firstly, it is essentially one manís wartime story. ... Read review
