Zlaty Hrozen - Tradition Without the Tourist Trappings
Review of Restaurace Zlaty Hrozen, Prague by fizzytom

Advantages: Excellent value; traditional food without all the artificial authenticity; central location
Disadvantages: None that come to mind

Getting to our second home in Slovenia has been increasingly difficult since Easyjet axed the flights to Stansted from our regional airport, and Ryanair stopped flying to the Austrian city of Graz. As a result we've frequently taken the step of flying int ... Read review

Czeching Out Brno
Review of Brno (Czech Republic) by fizzytom

Advantages: Handsome city with lots to see and do; more personal than Prague
Disadvantages: Cookie Tourist Info staff; not an overtly friendly city

The Czech city of Brno has some 400,000 residents (its metropolitan area has around twice that) and it is the capital of the province of Moravia. It is home to the largest exhibition centre in Europe and to the country's Constitutional and Supreme Courts, ... Read review

Perfect Prague (almost)
Review of Prague (Czech Republic) by bettyboop2002

Advantages: Cheap, lots do do
Disadvantages: Not enough time to see everything

Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic. The summers are warm and the winters get very cold. It takes around 2 hours to fly from most UK airports. The currency is the Czech Koruna, this works out around 100 czech koruna = £3. If you were to listen to ... Read review

Saladheads Rejoice!
Review of Kupé, Brno by Midwinter

Advantages: Fresh, tasty meat free food in a chilled out environment; friendly staff.
Disadvantages: The service can be a little too relaxed...!

It's not easy being a vegetarian in Brno - it's hard enough being in a relationship with one and finding decent places to go for a bite to eat. Around here you still get the sense that the older generations don't really know what a vegetarian is, and even ... Read review

I bought some Becherovka when we were there years ago as it tasted nice there - not so keen once we got home and i still have it 10 years on!!, by catsholiday
Yep, I'm afraid to say Prague "Chose Life" - it's got the job, the TV and spends it's Sundays in B&Q - with all that tourist money, it's got an eye on a f*cking big conservatory as well! Unfortunately, the city has turned into just another Western European capital - in the old days it felt like anything could happen at anytime there. Now it has respectability - and with that comes mediocrity! by Midwinter

Disadvantages: there're 3 Nebe clubs, sometimes it's difficult to choose one to go to :)

The Legend of Beefy Hollow...
Review of Jama, Prague by Midwinter

Advantages: Excellent chunky burgers & tex-mex in a relaxed, chatty atmosphere.
Disadvantages: A little pricey, and sometimes the expats can be a bit smug.

It's reassuring to find constants in an ever-changing city like Prague. When I first came during a bitter winter over ten years ago, we seemed to be lost in a snow carpeted labyrinth. The shutters were down in Old Town, and no-one else seemed to be about. ... Read review
