The Journey Of The Spirit
Review of Lonesome Traveler - Jack Kerouac by justarube

Advantages: Beautiful writing.

'Lonesome Traveler' by Jack Kerouac is one of my favourite books. I first discovered the author at the age of sixteen after a celebrity I liked mentioned that they loved Kerouac's most famous novel 'On The Road'. Since my local bookstore did not have 'On ... Read review

Wow. Just wow.
Review of Pandora's Box - Giselle Green by Kukana

Advantages: Moving story, great characters, raises interesting issues, powerful ending
Disadvantages: Almost impossible to put down, caricatured minor characters

When I started reading 'Pandora's Box' , I thought it would last me at least a week. Instead, I found it to be one of those books that gripped me almost from the beginning. I neglected just about everything else in life to get to the end of this novel, a ... Read review

Review of So... I Met a Demon - Paul McAvoy by cha97michelle

Advantages: Well plotted short story, suitable content for the audience
Disadvantages: bit scary in places, some dialogue felt a bit out of place.

So... I Met a Demon is a short stand alone novel aimed at young adults. This is the third in a loosely linked series of books where a young male central character finds themselves in an unusual and unbelievable situation. Ben's story starts when he is 6 ... Read review

Michaej J Sullivan: Hollow World not Shallow Word
Review of Hollow World - Michael J. Sullivan by cr01

Advantages: A good old fashioned science fiction world
Disadvantages: None for me

While I like fantasy fiction and read my full share, those stories of sword carrying heroes set in a world about 600 years behind ours can get a tad monotonous. How anyone can feed their brain with a 100% diet of the genre is beyond me. Thus when I heard ... Read review

Monstrous Regiment; Out of the closet and into the platoon
Review of Monstrous Regiment - Terry Pratchett by ConnemaraBlend

Advantages: Understandable and enjoyable to readers across range of reading skills and language proficiency.
Disadvantages: You usually do better with Pratchett's work if you understand irony and sarcasm.

I have to be honest and be up-front about the fact that I absolutely adore the wordsmithing skills of Sir Terry Pratchett. His vocabulary, his use of nuances, his ability to sketch an entire landscape with a simple sentence is simply superb. I heartily en ... Read review

Advantages: Some good characters. Well written and evocative.
Disadvantages: A little dull and takes an age to get going

Sounds like it appealed to you unconsciously when you bought it befitting the title :-). It sounds interesting and I like the coverart. I remember learning the use use of somnambulist from some hypnotists - to them it means someone of the mental disposition more likely to be hypnotized/influenced/impressionable and sadly to them 'a mark'. by ladyofflame

Review of The Way of Kings - Brandon Sanderson by MojoKodo

Advantages: Great story, keeps on reading page after page
Disadvantages: Some parts can be dull and make you want to skip to the exciting moments.
