A good story once it got going
Review of Fallen - Lauren Kate by RebeccaLovesBooks

Advantages: Loved the concept behind it. The story was gripping when it got moving.
Disadvantages: Slow at the start.

Diamond review   A candle in the dark.
Review of To Sail a Darkling Sea - John Ringo by Coloneljohn

Advantages: A very realistic, thought provoking and entertaining read.
Disadvantages: Some would be put off by the science fiction nature of the story.

An overview so far. Since the 'zombie plague' struck, the world has changed greatly. We may be familiar with images from space of our planet glowing with artificial light during the hours of darkness. After the plague all is dark except for one small lig ... Read review

Review of Chameleon - J Jackson Bentley by euphie

Advantages: Free book, decent story, kept my attention and made me second guess what I originally thought
Disadvantages: Found it werd that the author himself appears in the book, too descriptive in places

Review of Cross Bones - Kathy Reichs by mikeyc123

Advantages: a good read
Disadvantages: not her best novel

I appreciate that all of you found time to comment on my review. This is, as some of you predicted, one of my first reviews so any kind of feedback is welcome. I didn't want to get too much into book analysis, because I figured it would be a spoiler. I WILL, however, read other book reviews and apply what I have learned to Dan Brown's Inferno and Niccolo Machiavelli's Prince as soon as I finish them. Once again - thank you for your responds, it means a lot, really. by kostur

Northern Lights. A book with an anti-Christian message?
Review of Northern Lights (His Dark Materials) - Philip Pullman by Kitkat4730

Advantages: A literary feast of flying witches and talking polar bears
Disadvantages: The plot can jump from one place to another

Warning: This review contains some plot spoilers! Northern Lights (or The Golden Compass as the film version is known) is a story that has a not so subtle 'pop' at Christianity. The book was very much in the public eye in 2008 when 'The Golden Compass' h ... Read review
