~ * Mrs Miracle vs Mr Miracle * ~
Review of Mr. Miracle - Debbie Macomber by xd-o-n-z-x

Advantages: easy reading, inspiring
Disadvantages: didn't need the angels, too far fetched

As many of you will know, I like a good Christmas read. I recently found a good selection of Christmas chick-lit novels in a charity shop...and being the ‘Christmas lover’ I am, I just had to buy them all. One which I recently read was called ‘Mr Miracle’ ... Read review

Another exceptional read
Review of Women and Children First - Gill Paul by lorriellah

Advantages: Brilliant characters, absorbing, page turner
Disadvantages: I now miss reading it!

I recently read No Place For A Lady by Gill Paul and thought it was brilliant so when I came to read this I was eager to see if it was up to the high standard I had of this author and I definitely wasn't disappointed. I absolutely loved this book and coul ... Read review

Tempe Brennan and the Lucky Strike
Review of Speaking In Bones - Kathy Reichs by hiker

Advantages: Good solid crime-solving stuff
Disadvantages: None

Sometimes you really do need to start at the beginning of a series to get into it. And sometimes it doesn't matter a jot. Kathy Reichs' Tempe Brennan novels fall into the latter category. There's a bit of a back-story in there, but let's be honest, it' ... Read review

A good, gritty martina cole novel
Review of Two Women - Martina Cole by MsTricia

Advantages: gripping, well written, easy to read and hard to put down!
Disadvantages: sometimes her genre of writing can be very repetitive :(

I can remember like it was yesterday, being pregnant and staying in on New Year's Eve with my mum and ordering a takeaway and being mindlessly bored. I spotted she had this book on her dining table, so out of interest I picked it up and found it so grippi ... Read review

Twisted & Lost Memories, A Deadly Combination
Review of Crash & Burn - Lisa Gardner by gothic_moon

Advantages: Intriguing premise with complexity, depth of characters, keeps you guessing
Disadvantages: A little slow/repetitious at times (though this is for a reason)

Having read novels by Gardner before, this caught my eye in the library recently. Thankfully, it didn't disappoint, proving to be a gripping, complex read from start to finish. Crash & Burn falls within the crime thriller genre of the American ilk, thoug ... Read review
