Review of Gap Year in USA, United States of America by
daylight
Advantages: life experience, never to be forgotten
Disadvantages: leaving life behind in England
Ever fancied taking a year out, and moving somewhere that you thought you could only dream about? A few years ago I went to California on my own, to sample life in a place that I have always wanted to visit. I had only just turned twenty-one, and I had a ...

Not so good, I'm afraid.
Review of Gap Year in Kenya by
Rowan
Advantages: An interesting and worthwhile project to be involved with.
Disadvantages: Not safe enough to give the freedom of movement I would have liked.
I went to Africa to work for the WHO in one of their projects in Kenya. I decided to take a package trip into Tanzania and Zanzibar before I went in order to see a bit more of the country before I settled down. You have to be prepared to pay quite a bit ...

Trinitytrash
Advantages: You get to travel Italy. They pay for ALL your food, accommodation and travel in Italy
Disadvantages: It's hot. You have to want to work with children. The work is hard. You have to pay for your own flights
This summer I decided to escape the Wimbledon telly fortnight and the neighbours complaining about the two day heatwave and travel and work in Italy.
I worked for ACLE Summer Camps in Italy teaching English to Italian children using drama, music, sport ...

Take Care
Review of Gap Year in South Africa by
brofr
Advantages: Good exchange rate
Disadvantages: Unsafe, crime ridden, no work
Taking a gap year is intended to enhance the education a student has gained thus far and not meant as a survival course! Unfortunately a gap year in South Africa would amount to surviving, most likely build a lot of character if one is lucky enough to le ...

Down and Out in Thailand
Review of Gap Year in Thailand by
jezeres
Advantages: Everything to gain and nothing to loose
Disadvantages: Application for Thai citizenship costs £1000 (you'll be needing it)
I went to Thailand to 'engross myself' in the culture, a cheesy idea which would soon dawn on me as being completely impossible, after all you are European and earn in an hour what they earn in 2-3 days of hard labour... If they're lucky.
Firstly book ...
