Advantages: Covers a wide range of crops, good level of information on each, well illustrated
Disadvantages: Choice of crops favours those used in Asian, and to a lesser extent "Tex-mex" cuisine

Advantages: Interesting guide to gardening as if your life depended on it
Disadvantages: Some advice is now out of date, but that is almost the point of the book!
