Training for Trains in New Delhi
Review of New Delhi Railway Station, New Delhi by koshkha

Advantages: It's a real experience
Disadvantages: It's a real experience

An eye-opener of the most vivid kind If you want to see humanity raw in tooth and claw then not too much beats an Indian railway station. The first time my husband went to India with me he stood on one of the platforms of Delhi station and stared ope ... Read review

From Zero to Hero - the Airport that Reinvented Itself
Review of Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi by koshkha

Advantages: It works
Disadvantages: I can't guarantee how long it will stay so lovely

Not So Happy Memories Once upon a time, any traveller arriving in India was hit instantly by culture shock the moment they stepped off the plane; the airports were dreadful. Whilst I used to enjoy the exotic scent of joss-sticks, it was harder to tur ... Read review

The carpet did give me a bit of a headache after a long flight plus an unscheduled 2 hour stop in Nagpur due to unseasonable fog in Delhi. Baggage was still taking a silly amount of time in late 2010 but the domestic side was also shiny and new by then. I know it's mad but I do kind of miss the old "Indianness" of the airport by BristolBud

"Yes, but is it in the guidebook?"
Review of Madras Cafe, Rishikesh by koshkha

Advantages: It's in the book - so presumably nobody died there or anything
Disadvantages: It's in the book - so it's full of scared tourists

The Blind Faith of Travellers My sister Aileen still believes in the wisdom of guidebooks but unfortunately that doesn't extend to actually carrying them around with her. She'll insist on walking around for absolutely ages in search of a restaurant th ... Read review

Disadvantages: More garlic on the garlic naan is the only improvement I can suggest

I can not believe you would not walk out of a restaurant as you seem so confident and self assured. Give it a go next time you find it crap so maybe it will buck them up a level or two. I do enjoy the way you described it and would avoid this one like the plague. by garymarsh86
