Review of Jameh Mosque, Yazd by koshkha

Advantages: Spectacular mosque
Disadvantages: Not everyone appreciates a good mosque as much as me

Clearing an already high bar Iran has plenty of mosques and almost all of them are pretty spectacular but by the time we got to the Jami (or Jameh) Mosque in Yazd we'd only seen two other mosques, neither of which was particularly typical of the Pers ... Read review

Come on Baby Light My Fire
Review of Zoroastrian Fire Temple, Yazd by koshkha

Advantages: An almost unique opportunity to visit a fire temple in Iran
Disadvantages: A bit staged and artificial

Hungry in Hamedan
Review of Hamedan Azadi Hotel, Hamedan by koshkha

Advantages: Comfortable but not very memorable
Disadvantages: No bloomin' sturgeon - or much else either

The last of our northern Iranian hotels was in Hamadan, one of the most ancient cities in Iran which dates back to 3000 BC. It's quite a high altitude city at 1850 m about sea level, but that's nothing compared to the mountains nearby which reach their hi ... Read review

Advantages: The warmest welcome in Northern Iran
Disadvantages: Decorated like 1980s Student Accomodation

Oh - the breakfast! My favourite breakfast! Brings back memories of hotels in backwater Turkey where I'd scoff all the olives and then look at the waiter, then the dish and back at the waiter again in the hope that more wrinkly olives would appear so I could make feta and olive open sandwiches with a drizzle of honey. by fizzytom

Review of Azadi Tower, Tehran by koshkha

Advantages: Spectacular iconic architecture
